Any thoughs? Looking for the lowest recoil.

I can find the Challenger Low Recoil and Fiocchi Aero

And the mini Challenger and Aguila.

I've found the Challenger Tactical are pretty 'gentle' and I'd guess the minis would be. What do you want them for? I've found the Tacs will cycle my Daly 601 (gas action) Tac 19" and also my Girsan MC312 full-size inertia action. They run just fine in my 2 Hatsans, a 14" and a fullsize - both pumps. I haven't tried those minis.

Just my personal perspective...since I am fairly recoil sensitive.

Lowest felt recoil seems to be from the Aguila Minishell slugs. They are 1 3/4" and with the Opsol adapter, cycle fine through my 590 Shockwave.

For full size 2 3/4" I have also tried the Sellier & Bellot reduced recoil loads. I don't have any on me at the moment but did have a box I shot and they weren't bad. Not as soft recoil as the minishells. Also I have tried the Challenger Low Recoil target slugs. Decent and the price is right.

The Challenger slugs are very low recoil but also use low brass and sometimes don't extract perfectly if your chamber is dirty. I think Score and Remington low recoil slugs have a bit more power/recoil.

The Remington Slugger Managed Recoil Slug is one of the lowest recoil 12ga slug that I know of .... and that I ever tried ... only 1200 fps ...

I have never tried the Challenger Super Shortshell Slug ... but from the numbers those would even be lower recoil than anything else in 12ga.

Sellier & Bellot Sport Slug
Weight: 1oz
Velocity: 1345 fps

Remington Slugger Managed Recoil Slug
weight: 1oz
Velocity: 1200 fps

Aguila Mini Slug
Weight: 7/8oz
Velocity: 1250 fps

Challenger 12 Gauge Target Slugs
weight: 1oz
Velocity: 1450 fps

Challenger Super Shortshell Slug
weight: 3/4oz
Velocity: 1200 fps

Score Low Recoil Slug
weight: 1oz
Velocity: 1300 fps

I'm going to try to pick up some short shells, (328 grains at 1200fps sounds pretty gentle), anybody know if they will cycle in an Ithaca 37?

I dunno but I've read that many "short-shells" either won't cycle from mag to chamber OR need a 'special' adapter to accommodate for the short length. Those adapters aren't cheap and don't fit all guns. I'm happy with the Challenger Tac which is 1oz @ 1450fps. maybe a slower powder that makes it 'seem' gentler ?? I shot them thru my full-size Hatsan pump, Girsan full-size semi (inertia), 14" Hatsan pump and 19" Daly semi (gas) and all cycled fine, and none - even the shorties - seemed to have excessive recoil. I do run Limbsavers on all shotties - I'm old and frail ;-p
PS : No extraction probs, but I keep my guns clean. If it looks dirty, clean the chamber, and after shooting, clean the bore to get out the plastic crap, too.

Yes the Opsol mini clip 2.0 adapter only fits Mossberg 500, 500A, 590, 590A1, Maverick® 88 models, and the 12ga Shockwave. It's about $25.00 Cdn + tax at the various sponsors who carry it.

There is some truth to that issue.
For example in a circa 1980 M37 Ithaca shotgun 2 3/4 inch receiver these Aquila Mini Shells feed and extract then reload just fine as long as you operate the slide with purpose.
However in the later made M87 Ithaca with three inch magnum receiver these smaller shells have a high tendency to jam no matter how you operate the mechanism.
