KAR-21 rifle from Finland

KAR-21 is a modern sporting rifle announced recently. Made by Ensio Firearms in Finland.

Internal looks like a hybrid between AR15, AK, AR180. Quick caliber conversion similar to XCR, but with (IMO) a better barrel retaining system.

It's in preorder in Finland now. It'd be nice if this takes off for them and we can get it in Canada in the next 3 years.

I am very pleased to hear this. For a while I understood that the retail and marketing channels was strictly limited to the Finnish market.

Would be very excited to see this product come to Canada.

But it's made in Finland. If they're not the best, they're second only to the Swiss!

I'm afraid it is even more Gucci then that. The potential price quoted in the Bloke on the Range video is 3800 Euro / 5648 CAD for one base rifle version , and 1600 Euro / 2379 CAD for the calibre conversion swap parts.

The overall design itself is quite nice, and if it could be licensed and modified to not convert, but instead use some whatever AR-10/15 parts were possible, to hopefully reduce the price a bit, it would make a nice base to build a semi-automatic non-restricted .308/Creedmore rifle from.

$3200 is not expensive at all these days.. That'd be expensive pre-covid and pre-OIC, when we had a ton of other options and no inflation. Hopefully, CPC gets elected and my FAMAE purchase options won't expire worthless, lol
