My, oh my, but those Stevens 200 do shoot!

Mine (.223) came in today. Looks OK, but needs the sharp edges taken off the stock. :)

Any suggestions to adjusting/smoothing the trigger?

.

Got mine in .223 today!!

Nice, I think they improved the stock on them, seems stiffer on the front.

now to take it to the range and see if its good anough for coyotes.

Planning on painting the stock Olive, bedding it and need to work some more on the trigger, but its already acceptable at about 3.5#.

Bolt is surprisingly smooth :)

Here's my new Stevens .223 ready to hit the range, nice trigger at 3#, glass bedded and action polished. It's wearing a bushnell 3200 3x9x40.

This is my coyote rig from now on, its light and should be accurate enough for yotes ;) ,that will be confirmed soon!!

Well, I waded out yesterday with the snowshoes to the 100 yard and 200 yard range at the club. Mild (-1) and no wind. Using my Stevens 200 in 22 250. No trigger work or bedding - just a paint job and a leupy knock of scope clone bought from jackyiscxd on this site. This is my coyote hunting rifle.

One of the things I noticed was that the windage knob moved when I took it out of the case (moves more freely than I like - anyone else have this issue with this scope?), so I had to readjust for 100 yards. Shot this 3/4" group with Federal 22 gr Hi Shock factory ammo as well as with my handloads - 36.0 grains of Varget and a 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

At 200 yards, shot these 4 into 2 1/8" (3 into 1 1/2") with my last reloads.

All shot off a bench with the bipod. I am not what I consider to be a "precision" shooter, so I am very happy with this rifle. As soon as I get the scope holes tapped in my 7mm Mag (arrived drilled but not tapped from the factory), I will be setting it up as well and seeing how it shoots.

Today you can get as many as you want of any caliber for $299 ea.

Where are these guns available for that price? I am interested in a 243.
Thanks
Wade

you just missed the sale they were $232.00
ended yesterday
Maybe they will extend it which would be nice i'd like to get one more my 22-250 is, to me, a tack driver

I'm wondering why they were just offered in 300 and 7mm mag-were they not as popular as the other lighter calibers?Could it have anything to do with the recoil with that particular stock?

All the way from .223 to .300WM, they're all listed at 6.5 lbs. A 6.5 lb gun in .300WM is definitely going to leave a mark :D

It's possible that given the low price point for these rifles that alot of them would be going to new shooters as their 1st gun.
