Liberals plan to ''End Gun Violence''

Like I said in my previous post I think we all need to look bigger picture. This goes way deeper than guns. I for one don’t want to lose the country to the highest bidder. If the turd keeps spending the way he is Jeff Bezoz will be able to buy us and use us as his personal Amazon army. Guns are such a small part that right now I’d prefer to keep the guns I have and can use than losing the rest. Let the courts decide the fate of the OIC.

I wonder if that is because they lack the legal authority to change that status?
I seem to recall the Liberals taking steps to prevent future governments from reducing prohibited to restricted/NR and Restricted to NR.

I'll lose 86%. PPC people here haven't realized that they'll lose their guns by voting PPC and then go online afterwards to rant and ask " What happened to this country?!?" And only then, some will they realize had the chance and squandered it.

Again, a vote for PPC is a vote for Trudeau. Understand that.

I have no idea what the worth of your gun collection is but whatever you do have, you will lose under the Lib plan.

Even with a minority gov, the NDP and BQ will support the libs and there goes our guns. Do you understand that or simply don't care?

I genuinely don't get why PPC voters are risking their guns for a party that has no chance AT THIS TIME.

This is EXACTLY what Turdeau wants. And I have a feeling he'll get it given the amount of PPC voters here.

Look at the Lib gun platform. Read it. Then read it again. This will be it for us if the conservative vote is split.

You either stop the bleed now, or we are done for. I'm not entirely sure why this is a debate. No matter how hard you believe the O'toole MAY turn against, I can tell you one thing for sure, a Liberal win will leave you with nothing but single-shots by end of term.

Just browsing through this long post/debate/whatever. I was a little surprised by the Otoole firearm flip but its a very good play by the Conservatives. Trudeau can't bash him on public safety issues and the general population are probably satisfied with the OIC. Whether it finalizes or not remains to be seen, but you can be guaranteed it will if Trudeau gets in . I personally think Otoole as a military experienced individual has had to deal with mommas boys like Justin before. He took away a huge angle the Libs were hoping to exploit. I believe he will sort things out in the sporting gun area. We may loose are AR's but keep everything else for awhile longer. I will back the dude. Honestly our best option.
 
Just reiterating the comment above if “Mad Max” was currently in O’Toole’s shoes now, he would be playing it exactly the same, note for note from O’Toole’s lawyerly playbook. If you can’t see this than there is no hope for you. This forum impasse makes me think there should be some skill based questions added to firearm acquisition and licensing because the simple math of the matter here is lost on the weaker ones in our herd. *A vote for ANY other party not named the CPC is a vote for Trudeau and is the end of the road for most of your more interesting guns. If you don’t care about this and you still prefer to throw your vote away on PPC, than that’s your right as a Canadian. I don’t know how many times on how many pages of this thread people have to regurgitate this simple fact. O’Toole is doing exactly what he has to do to topple Trudeau and if you can’t see that, you should leave the herd.

*Or: These PPC tire pumpers in here are just some liberal trolls having a bit of fun in here stirring the pot. I mean it’s not a bad idea as they’d be scratching 2 itches, annoying gun owners and picking up a few votes for Captain Colour Socks from a few confused gunnutz who aren’t in on the joke.

Just remember the last 6 painful years with the Trudeau Liberals running this country.

LPC called me today they were wondering if I would be voting liberal? I replied sure and everyone in my family too. He thanked me for the support and the call was over in 2 minutes.

Well, we definitely didn't cross into a parallel universe where politicians expend their effort, influence and political capital to reverse the campaign promises that pushed them over the finish line.
The CPC belatedly realized that Canadian gun owners were expendable and worth more votes under the bus than in their camp, the same calculus that the Liberals arrived at years ago.
Nobody wants our votes.
Nobody is coming to our rescue.

So you’d prefer for him to crash and burn in a fiery ball on the horse he rode in on. He’s got to win and if he doesn’t, he’s more useless to us than Trudeau. Let O’Toole do what he needs to take this because there is no other option. No reasonable person could expect to get hammered on this point for 7 days straight in the media, through long weekend with 2 weeks left in the campaign only to have liberals and their fan boy media zero in on only this and then stick in the final daggers during the English debate on Thursday; it would have been political suicide and for what, nothing! It was either this or 4 more years of Trudeau… End of story! At least now we still have an outsiders fighting chance of getting a smart, likeable veteran on Sussex who has plenty of experience and tricks to deploy should he pull it off.

This is why the pollsters are useless. The poll that counts is on election day. Get the vote out!!
 
And no reasonable person would think O'Toole is just saying what he needs to say to get elected but he'll change course once he's in and reverse the ban.

What a reasonable person would expect is that a major political party would do the research to determine and then defend their platform.
That's why it's called a platform.
It's something you're supposed to stand on.

Instead, O'Toole has demonstrated that he is unreliable & ill-prepared. Maybe that doesn't translate into a major setback and we are expendable.
But either way, on this particular issue, O'Toole has turned his back on those impacted by the May OIC.

Well than please tell us what your better idea is for getting rid of Trudeau, the clear and present danger to all firearms? You can be sore about O’Toole doing what he needed to have a chance at getting elected but at the end of the day he can’t do anything to help us if he doesn’t win. He’s a military guy and a cagey lawyer who we know would like to help us if he can and I think that is better than any other option currently on the table.

You're still confusing the removal of Trudeau and helping us.
O'Toole getting in no longer means gun owners get help.
That is no longer his platform.
Sorry.
He's just not that into us anymore.

Now if you want to get rid of Trudeau because you prefer O'Toole's platform on some other issue, fill yer boots.
But it's no longer about helping gun owners.
