= i'd really like a bunch of variations you haven't mentioned yet, is that possible.

- maybe. We'll see.

= aren't these illegal?

- no.

There. I just saved you 3 hours of reading :D

Oh - and it's his sled. Rosebud was his sled. I just saved you another 2 hours :D

wow...just flipped threw all 59 pages and now i think i want one. a lot of repeat questions but none the less all good info. i thought i was sold on the 8.5 till i read somewhere that its a no no for hunting in bc and that 12 is the shortest you can go. for that alone i want the 12.5 now. well my question is (for bc hunters) is a 12.5 with pistol grip a no no in the bush? the reason i ask is i would like a p/g short shotty for bear season as a "back up" to my 30/06 (something i can sholder carry, or have on the side of my pack). however if i'm out walking and i kick up a grouse i would like to have some appies with dinner, so am i legal to go after it with that wickedly short shotty?? thanks...and for the low price how can you do wrong?

well my question is (for bc hunters) is a 12.5 with pistol grip a no no in the bush?

the law says no firearms at all under 12 inch barrels, and anything that can easily be fired with one hand is a pistol. (bc law.) I would argue that a 12 inch shottie cannot be easily fired one handed, and is designed to be used with two hands. The CO may possibly argue differently :D depending on the co.

You'll have fun hitting a grouse with a pistol grip tho.

thats what i thought...i'm always up for a little fun. all kidding aside, i was very pleased with the way my other 12ga with light loads worked on grouse (and i always see so many of them when i only have my 06 with me) im thinking this might be the best of both worlds...i just don't want to find out the hard way with a hefty fine. sorry if this a little off topic but this is the buy it or don't buy it factor to me...

well, when in doubt, call the ministry :) Explain you don't feel it's an issue because the gun is not meant to be fired one handed, and see if they agree.

Frankly - with the longer barrel (vs the 8 inch) i think anyone can see it's not intended for single handed operation. Plus you need two hands to actually rack it. So it's pretty much a no brainer to me - but call the ministry if you have concerns. Better than asking on the internet anyway. :)

We are looking at importing this:

Nice !!!

My preference would be the 870 style stock - pistol grips are fine for tactical applications - not so good for hunting IMO.

How about fully rifled barrels - for sabot slugs? Either rifle sights or scope base?

Now the question is what do you use the 'empty' space in the tube mag for?

Good luck - great idea!!!

Saw on the other thread that Can Am told a guy that the 12.5 would be at the HACS show on Sunday - does that mean they will be shipped out to those of us who pre-ordered this week?:D:D:D:D

Sorry Can-Am but I'm as giddy as a teenage Boy at a Hawaiian Tropics photo shoot!:runaway:

They may be at HACS. That is assuming they are delivered here on Friday. I will start shipping next week. Despite what some of you think, I am not Superman, and can't unpack, check, register, pack and ship several hundred guns in an afternoon. :D

Fine, just ship mine on Friday afternoon... it's only 1. ;)

so after reading all posts. The 12.5 will be good to go if you want to put pistol grip on?

For now, if you putting a pistol grip on it is still non-restricted. However, they are in court debating this fact and the RCMP are saying that its a pistol and it should be restricted. So the law could change

I wish I knew.

I think some people asked about grandfathering, but I didn't see anyone answer. If you get one of these guns and put a pistol grip on it you probably cannot grandfather your right to tote it with the pistol grip non-restricted, right?

I seem to remember CanAm saying they sell it with the full stock on (but with an extra pistol grip) for some kinda legal reasons.
