Liberals plan to ''End Gun Violence''

The Liberals are literally accusing the Conservatives of wanting to see Canadians murdered in large numbers, at the behest of the mysterious and fearful "gun lobby". I wish I could say I was surprised that they can say this sort of hateful, insane thing with a straight face.
 
Has O'Toole reiterated that he will not allow municipalities to ban handguns?
Or is he just running away from gun control altogether and hoping Trudeau will change the subject for him?

Coincidentally, I was reading Jim Mattis' book this morning and he says win or lose, generals and CEOs must fight against a false narrative or it will assuredly be accepted as fact.

Given what the polls say, and the general ignorance among the populace of our firearms laws and stats, anyone running an election solely on reducing gun control on the law abiding is going to lose. Full stop.

There's so, so many reasons to dislike Trudeau. The fact that the Conservatives are the only ones not actively coming for us is just one more point in their favour. It shouldn't be something to win or lose an election on, and the Liberals want it to be. I don't see what O'Toole said as being an issue. He'll review things. Good enough for the moment.

I think he’s trying to get the gun debate dropped. They don’t have anything else against him. But if they can convince enough people that he wants guns in everyone’s hands and the streets to turn red with blood they’ll get people on their side. I have a feeling he playing the long game and he’s got something up his sleeve for us. But honestly even if nothing changes the chances of O’toole making it worse for us is slim.

I'm just taking from this about face, that O'Toole will not do anything about gun control until his second term.
If Trudeau loses and then his party collapses in a leadership rout, that might change and all things Conservative might be on the table. But I doubt it.
 
The problem with his proposed review based on functionality is precedent, i.e., now that you've agreed that a bunch of semi-automatic rifles are justifiably prohibited as assault weapons, how could any rifle with similar functionality not be prohibited?

My thoughts are this
I find it hard to believe that our current Prime Minister finds it hard to believe that so many people dislike him and or that his past actions made people dislike him. Sort of troubling that he is an educated man in power of a country and can not see why (past events) make things happen. Guess we can hope for better voter choices this time around. I will wait for election results to send him a condolence card and wish him luck on his next endeavour!

That’s what I was talking about. O’toole is trying to make this election about money. The turd is trying to make it about guns. If O’toole can get the media to drop guns he can start to control what they’re talking about. The turd can keep saying he’s going to make Canada safer till he’s blue in the face but he won’t be able to say the cons are going to make it less safe than it currently is. Guns are such a small piece of the political pie but the media can blow it up and since it’s so polarizing it gets people arguing and ignoring what’s important to all Canadians. Let’s face it gun owners don’t even make up 10% of Canada’s population so for the vast majority more laws wouldn’t impact them at all. But the threat of mass violence due to easing of restrictions scares them. We know the truth, O’toole knows the truth but no one wants to hear the truth.

Hold your nose and go and vote conservative. After Sept. 20th, you will get to keep what you have, and we might get to use our OIC guns again. Join the party and change it from the inside. Sitting back and complaining from the sidelines gets you nothing. Put on your big boy pants and get involved. Look at the Liberal, NDP, Green and Block manifestos. They all want you disarmed. The PPC is not yet viable as a conservative challenger but might be down the road.

One thing is for sure. Come Sept. 21st, if the Liberals are in, supported by the Bloc and NDP, you will loose more than the OIC guns, you will loose them all. Along with internet censorship, more taxes and restrictions on our freedoms that the liberals love, this country will move more towards communism and we will ruin this country by our inaction.

The leftwing media love this infighting and divide and conquer game. Stick together, you have nothing to loose by voting conservative, and a lot to loose with the other parties.

Very accurate statement. I agree 100%. The best part is O'toole is probably in the 10%. I'm sure even Blair is still holding an RPAL if not a conceal/carry permit. I really find it humourous that people are pelting Trudeau with rocks. To get elected the first time he made it so everyone could get stoned. Now they're stoning him. LMAO.
