Semi-auto CETME Modelo A

You're going in the right direction man. At least you're trying to be different and not just jumping on the bolt action AR lookalike train like many are.

Bolt action AR, anyone else in the entire world is going to look at that and be like

What the #### are people thinking in canada.

Bolt action AR

SEriously say that a couple times to yourself

so what would that imply ? That they arent done yet ?
Or are they looking to keep in in the no no closet...

It means I was mistaken haha. I sent an unrelated deactivates gun to the rcmp for their inspection so that I could add “deactivation” to the list of business activities. When the rcmp contacted me about sending my gun back, I wrongfully assumed they meant the CETME A. Turns out they wanted to send the dewat back.

I still haven’t heard back from the lab regarding the CETME A, but will update when I do.

The (only) interesting thing about bolt action AR's is that they could still get the ban hammer - as variants of a prohibited firearm. Murray Smith's testimony contains a comment from him that says that it is possible for a rifle to be a variant without using the same operating mechanism - that's how "Ar blowback shotguns" were created (and banned-ish)

According to Smith anything can be variant of anything.

And under "evergreen" bill they are introducing after re-election, SFSS will be able to ban firearms without PMO getting distracted from climate change. That will remove any legal ambiguity from "opinions" of lab's "firearm experts".

For anyone that is still following, I emailed the RCMP asking for the status since it has been well beyond the 120 business day timeline that they quoted me. This is what I received back from them today:

"Good morning,

Unfortunately there is no update for you at this time. I also regret to inform you that the “120 business days“ turn-around time is no longer feasible or achievable.

Your inspection has not been forgotten, and you will receive an email when an update is available.

Sorry for the inconvenience."
