Having difficulty removing the rear sight axis pin. My gunsmith cannot remove the small lock pin.He is very experienced (40years plus) and has never had this problem before. Where can I find a replacement axis pin and small lock pin?

Looking into this different manuals refer to the transfers pin as a "cross pin" and as an "pin axis, backsight" The retaining pin I believe is called the "pin, axis, backsight, retaining "

Marstar does not appear to have either.

Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm having a hard time imagining why the retaining pin would be difficult to remove.

Can you post pictures?

It's at my gunsmith's place. So no pics available. He says it is not tapping out, and he has broken 2 punches trying. He is not an amateur . If he says it is not coming out as it should, I believe him.As rifle is essentially new and never disassembled since manufacture over 60years ago, I think it is oxidized solid ,no viable rust, but those pieces of metal have been in close contact for over half a century.

Job completed. Smith made a new replacement locking pin. Good to go!Scope sits fairly low. Now to study 303 reloading mysteries.

I’ve been curious a out the Bad Ace scope mount for the No 4, can you post a review after field testing?

That mount allows a farther eye relief than most and it sits low, it could be a very good option.

Tried it out at range yesterday. I will need to put a strap on cheek riser for best results. Mount appears to work well. I was using some 1943 Canadian surplus 303 surplus ammo so final assessment will need to await next trip with better ammo. i was getting 2 or 3 shots very good groups (less than 1.5"), then a flier 6 or 7 inches away. I'm pretty sure it's an ammo issue.
