for the Record. i did move mine on.. ended up in the 7mm gang for now (-08 & mag)- hindsight is though.... that 270 would of done everything the last 5 rifles had done an even better than most.

i'll be back i rekon..

I’ve had more than a couple of 270’s over the years but I’ve always felt kind of ho hum about them. The caliber does just about everything, some things well and somethings not so well. Right now I have a pre64 m70 featherweight that really shoots well and I’m more excited about it than most rifles I’ve had.

Just loaded up some 140gr Berger Classic Hunters over a case of StaBALL 6.5 for a ladder test. Hoping wifey doesn't have plans for the weekend so I can see how these run, should be close to 3000fps with a great BC, deadly as far as I can see.

Failing that I managed to scam a dozen 140gr SST's to try out as well off a buddy of mine. Really like the 140+ weights in .277.

Also my BAR seems to be fond of the 156gr Sako Hammerheads, I'm okay with that as well.

I got a M 70 supergrade about 2 months ago, a work of art in today’s hunting rifle world,it’s shooting 1.5” groups at 200 meters with 150 Grand slams, it’s going to be my main rifle this year.

I have two Husqvarna rifles in 270.

The little 4100 lightweight is a sweet carrying around rifle.

I'm in on the 270 club. I have the fasted 270 Win. in Canada with the 130 grain, 3,367 fps., under 1/2" accuracy.:stirthepot2:

Tikka T3 laminated stainless in .270 has been a dynamite deer rifle for me for the last 7 seasons. Loaded with Federal Fusion 130gr, it brings home dinner every November.
