In search of rifles by Canadian gun makers 1600ish-1800ish

Been looking on and off for the past while for examples/photos of original long rifles made by Canadian gun makers ... 1600ish-1800ish ... There is NOT a lot of information out there at all

Does any one know of or know of a friend of a friend (or enemy -- I don't care) who knows of... or even a random rumor of:

- Research material (books etc) specifically pertaining to Canadian gun makers.

- Locations of original guns that can be attributed to Canadian gun makers, in museums, private collections etc.

I have some reference (the only reference there is I think) "The Canadian Gunsmiths 1608 to 1900", some good clues in there...
I found some images and references to several that went at auctions, one (by Philo Soper) in one of the British museums.

But very little else.

well holy crap! Looks like the Oct 9 estate auction has probably 50+ Canadian rifles!

Site Sponser, Marstar, has two Marston percussion target rifles listed for sale. Marston has a shop on young street Toronto which is neat. A friend is selling a another percussion rifle from a gunsmith in southern Ontario Gould I think.

I’m looking for CDN pistol percussion and flintlock pistol makers.

I have not found anything basically pre-confederation, lots of references, no examples ... seems most were armorers contracted by traders/forts/government etc. Maybe not a whole lot of time to make their own guns....
