I'm looking to find a whole point boat tail bullet that I can use in my rifles, I have interest in some, see below
.30 - 175 to 180 grain
.312 - 175 to 180 grain
.312 - 125 to 150 grain, looking at 7.62x39mm
8mm - 180 to 200 grain
.338 - 200 grain I thinks lol

Hornady for all of them is at least as accurate as most, other than some custom rifles will shoot at mid range prices.

The only rifles that are going to notice the difference will likely be one offs or special match grade.

Most hunting rifles won't shoot even the best bullets, which are only very marginally superior, any better.

Stay away from the low end PPU or Privi, they're built for a different type of match shooting than we do here.

Probably Sierra, for the cost. Both hornady and Speer made good competitor bullets too, but i don't see them that much anymore. - dan

X2 for Sierra.

In F class T/R applications of 223 Rem and 308 Win, I have jumped back and forth between in dabbling with Sierra and Berger.
I've generally preferred Sierra on the basis performance and cost over Bergers.

For 223s, a Sierra 77 MK keeps up just fine with the Berger 80.5 and the Berger 82.
For range beyond 500-600 yards, a Berger 90 VLD will dominate over a 77 MK.
But then again 90 grain apples are being compared to 77 grain oranges.

My 308 gun was built primarily for long pointy 200 grain projectiles.
Most F T/R guys in know in Saskatchewan/Manitoba/Alberta are using 200.20X Bergers.
I had gone through 2 boxes of them and would never group better than 0.75 ish..

However, with Sierra's 200 MK I found 0.3 to 0.4 groups after about 50 test loads. I also found good results quickly with 175 MKs too.

This past weekend (want to make a post about it soon) I tried to experiment with 185 Juggernauts.
Most of the literature out there defines these Juggernauts as super easy to tune...... I haven't taken the calipers to them yet but they are almost as bad as the 200.20x.

At the end of the day, I'm a Sierra guy and if you ask me I will tell you that Sierra's rock... Guess what I'd say if I had better luck with Bergers in my 308 ?

You might be better off not listening to me or anyone else.... at first buy small quantities of everything you want to try.... try them all and gun(s) will let you on paper what they like and don't like.

Don't ignore the Speer 168. In my 308 I find them comparable to the 168 MK. Can be hard to find but are usually half the price.

For 175's the tipped match king is the way to go.

Never had much luck with the Hornady variety.

In my first precision 308, lo those many years ago lol, the 190 gr Speer BTHP was the single most accurate bullet. They were very hard to find even before the current nonsense, however. - dan

The 190's were excellent bullets. A bit ahead of there time. Now I think they would be much more popular. Haven't seen them since the 90's.
