I started my collection about 5 years ago and have been buying 2-4 guns every year since. I'm at the point now where I don't know which direction to go next and was hoping for some recommendations. I'll be sticking with NR purchases and won't be considering any bullpups (lefty).

I currently own:
1. Semi auto .22 x 3
2. Semi auto .223 x 2
3. Semi Auto 7.62 x 39 x 1
4. Semi Auto 9mm x 1
5. Semi Auto 30-06 x 1
6. Semi-auto 12 gauge x1 (gone fishing)
7. Pump 12 gauge x 2
8. Bolt action .223 x 1
9. Lever Action 45-70 x 1

So if you owned these rifles what would you be going with next? The few options I've been considering:

1. Compact .308 Bolt action, with detachable mag and short barrel <20inch...still looking for available options.
2. New semi auto shotgun, 1301? 940? other?
3. Milsurp, aside from an SKS my collection is lacking in this category. A Swedish Mauser M38 is top of my list, maybe a Lee Enfield? not looking to spend big money on a Milsurp.
4. A long range/precision platform in .308/6.5 to dive into long range shooting.
5. A higher end black rifle like a Famae, NDS, ACR, B&T etc.
6. A new .22 plinker (bolt/lever).

What would you recommend?

Match one of those Semi auto's either in 7.62x39, .223 or that 30/06 with a bolt action. CZ 527 comes to mind or other Cz makes. Or even better a Winchester model 70 in Beautiful maple. I'd also recommend getting a CZ 457 Lux, in a rimfire, you can also get interchangeable barrels for them in 22lr, 22wmr, 17hmr.

I recommend a 240 Weatherby - I too own, a 223,308, 6.5 Creedmoor and a few 22 and a bunch of 12 gauges from SxS O/U and pumps. I just bought a 240 and can not wait till it arrives - not planning on reloading for it am only going to shoot factory ammunition

Went out shooting last weekend and my 20yr old son really liked smacking plates with my buddy's short .223 bolt. We also got to shoot my buddy's T97 bullpup shooting iron plates, it too was a favorite, so I would say a bullpup like a T97 (1100.00) a Tavor (3k) or an KelTec (2kish),

Semi auto shotgun - how about the Benelli Super Vinci X

Not semi auto....how about the double barrel DP12 pump, just for the coolness and niche factor?

I was thinking along those lines as well. I'm really interesting in the CZ line of rifles and wanted one of those Range Rifles in .308 but they appear to be no more. I still have thousands of surplus 7.62x39 but was initially concerned about shooting corrosive out of a more expensive rifle, however i've heard the 527 was designed for it. I already own a .223 bolt action so i'm comfortable there and the only other 30.06 I was really interested in owning was the M1 Garand but they command quite a price premium these days. I think for bolt action I will likely dive into .308's instead of grab another 30-06, something like a CZ 557 or Ruger American Hunter.

My son and I bought this BCL Bison and pulled out my spare parts bin and used a spare scope.

Hope to get out this weekend but handles and balances nicely.

I'd really like to pick up a compact platform like this if only it were in .308. I currently own a .223 bolt action that takes AR mags so I'm not sure if I need to go the Bison route. Cheers.

A cz527 in 7.62x39 carbine is a lot of fun, cheap to shoot and makes a nice short range deer gun. Edit: looks like you're a lefty. I don't think cz made a lefty 527 in 7.62x39, only 223.

Pistol caliber levers are also a lot of fun, but not on your list.
