Any Other Reason To Own MRA Renegade Other than Porting Over AR Parts?

What’s to stop me selling my unregulated barrel, the fact that they cannot change the details of an AR certificate that no longer exists is not my problem

there is a note in my file about the change of status of my ar15 (no more barrel and upper, only the lower)... you had 30 days to inform them not few months after ...

There is a requirement to report when a "frame/receiver only" restricted firearm is altered to allow it discharge ammunition (aka building a complete gun). There is no requirement to report when going the other way. Read the conditions that came with your certificate carefully - it spells it out in plain English.

But then they announced that those certificates were totally cancelled. So if they wiped that they wouldn't know who they have to collect them from? I somehow doubt that. And if your certificate is cancelled do you have anything to legally justify there being one of those in your safe? The thinking gun owner might even conclude it best to quietly drop the lower into the blue box with the aluminum pop can recycling...

Anyone have a folding stock on their MRA ? Would a 16 inch barrel with a folding stock still be long enough to be 26 inches ?

the MRA uses the stock buffer tube the same way as an AR15, so by default you can’t fold an AR stock.
there are aftermarket stocks that do but you cannot pull the bolt back while folded.
you could maybe use it without a stock but no charging assist without the buffer spring!?!

my certificate was in french certainly the reason ... as the upper was prohibited with oic that was the only way to inform the registar that the upper was gone (i sold it) otherwise you will have to surrender it with the lower ...

they will collect the upper and the lower at least... unless you can prove it was gone before the 30 days ... cant wait to see the people complaining about it in the future ...it has been told in the time of oic here ...

If and when it comes to it, I’ll hand in the upper and lower for the AR’s I have and a bag of parts and spare barrels and they can play forensic reconstruction if they want. I have enough spare parts to give them complete albeit disassembled rifles. Then the best parts can go on a couple of MRA receiver kits.

I know they can steamroller us with this $1300 figure they pulled out of their collective arses, but perhaps the compensation will become a sticking point IF grandfathering disappears. At least the NZ value system seemed closer to actual value based on what I have vs the flat fee proposed by BB.

if it comes to that, ill be turning in a crushed upper and loer CRUSHED in a 10 ton press. i see no point in giveing the enemy a functional reciever
