BPS 20 Gauge Upland Special

I was wondering what an approximate value of a good condition Upland special might be. It has very few few rounds through it. There are a few safe kisses on the stock and the metal is near perfect and it has a limbsaver recoil pad installed. It has not been hunted and only 6 rounds of sporting clay on it. I know a picture would help but have never been to figure out how to do it. Thanks for any ideas.

25-1/2'' Barrel and 2-3/4'' chamber?
$500.00 maybe to the right guy and the moon and stars align.

Epps just sold a 12g model this week for 650$, took a few weeks to sell at that price. they usually sell quicker. they had a "very good" condition one a month or 2 ago in 20g for 550$ that sold in hours and I was on hold to buy it when it was sold. same condition, metal was perfect with some marks on buttstock. I'd say between those prices .

The "Upland Specials" in 12g and 20g are no longer made. Why? is a good question. A 3" chamber and choke tubes; a 22" VR barrel with English stock was a pretty "slick" package. As such, if these guns are "in demand" on the used market, they will hold their value well. I have both models and the 20g is a fine gun all around IMO. I also own BPS Hunter grades in 12, 16, 20, 28, and 410. Took a while to get all 7 guns.

I got a 12ga BPS Hunter from a dealer out of BC 2 yrs ago for $ 399. It was tagged USED, but it looks like unfired, no marks in the mag tube, bluing 99%, wood is clean, but missing one choke which is no big deal. Damn heavy, but solidly built. Smooth action and LH friendly being bottom feed/eject.

Yes it would be nice a comeback of the BPS Upland. I do have a 24" Barrel BPS Micro Midas in 20GA. The length of pull is almost 14" with the included spacers. It's short LOP is ideal for me wearing thick jacket in winter for hare hunting.
 
I have two, 1: 870 Upland Special 20 ga, and 2: BPS Upland Special 20 ga. Both are guns that I have wanted for along time. Anyway, I am a Wingmaster guy, however the BPS fits better. I was 750$ on one, and 525$ for the other. I can't remember which one.
 
Those upland specials were sweet guns. Whether it was 870's, BPS's, 1100's or 11-87"s they were purpose built for their intended name, UPLAND. Great for plowing through thick cover when lightning quick shots were required on flushing birds but for something like waterfowling they were too "whippy" so to speak and were not great for that style of wingshooting. I suspect sales were not as well as anticipated or they'd still be available. They are a unique addition to a collection though and a neat novelty gun.
 
I wasn't attached enough to my 12 GA Upland to keep it. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I soon realized it was a relatively heavy gun to lug around for Upland birds. In my opinion, which is likely to be in the minority, it would have been a good candidate for an aluminum receiver.
The final straw was disassembling it for a thorough cleaning. Once it was back together it was for sale.

Straight stocks were designed to allow a quick transition to a second trigger on doubles. I don’t think they should command a premium on a pump or auto. I’ve had a few from each of the manufacturers, including a really nice 26” BPS 16ga. They are a bit too specialized for me.

With a new BPS retailing for 1000$ I’m inclined to say value is in the 7-850$range for one in excellent shape.

OP, were you looking to buy one, or sell? I've been looking for one meself and they are hard to find.
