tokerev tt-33

I love mine. Works great. Sure it's cheap....but the round is fun and mine is realiable. My friends is good too. We've had H&K's S&W's, Glocks.....but we find the Tokarev to be one of the most fun.

Is anyone selling the 7.62 X 25 Tokarev ammo in the Toronto area?

I plan on reloading this round eventually but would like to get a box or two of ammo to try in my recently purchased Tokarev.

Marstar is still showing it by the case - $225 for 2280 rounds (cheap like Borschdt) The fun part is that you're not sweating each round, you can 'goof around', practise hip shooting, speed rocks, long range shots all those things you probably wouldn't do with commercial ammo.

norinco indeed....doe sthat disqualify my quiff...quiff? did i just say that?
i mean is norinco so bad you can identify them that easy on a thread?

it seems that rinco's , when good, are VERY GOOD, and when bad, are VERY BAD- i've got both a m93 woodsman and the type 54 tok and mine work fine- however, if you do a little digging on here threadwise, you'll find some real STINKERS on both types as well

i tried to sell mine no one will buy it i only shot 40 some rounds through it cuz it does not stop jammin.....wanna buy it?
lol
I suck at sales......my job ethics creep into my daily life and i cant screw anyone over

My Norc Tok was always running perfectly and I routinely out-shot a guy at the range with his M&P in 9mm. I shot his pistol and found them to be about equal in the accuracy dept.
Perhaps there are gunsmiths who could tweek the faulty Norc Toks by some replacement of springs or what-not. Why my barrel locked into the slide is still a mystery to me. Super-cold temperatures? Poorly fitting barrel bushing? I don't know. If any of you out there have any idea why this would happen; i.e. barrel locking out of battery and round not ejecting or staying in the chamber(sometimes a casing and sometimes a live round) then please reply with your thoughts.

had it happen with reloads- esp the 124 grain round nose lead , but i know what it is- the round is too long because when you cycle it manually, the bullet pulls out of the case- doesn't happen with 130 crayolas or 115 factories, either that or the slide doesn't travel fully back and lock-

7.62X25 TT33 Ammo

Okay, here's one of those stupid, but honest, questions. Other than Marstar, who else sells 7.62X25 Tokarev TT33 ammo in Canada? I'm looking for some and I really don't want to buy a huge case of the stuff from Marstar if I can buy 500 rounds, for example, from some other company here in Canada. Thanks for your help!

Your profile doesn't say where you are, but if you're on the West Coast, Lever Arms in Vancouver has the same cases. Usually local dealers will bring ammo in from these 2 suppliers and split down a case or two. My local dealer sells this ammo (or other 7.62x25) for about $6/box of 40 rounds.

I have a Soviet Tokarev TT-33, and it is a blast to shoot. I find it super reliable, and it is a super simple design. Ammo is cheap and rarely has extraction problems. The only thing that has broke on mine is the recoil spring rod, which I did not even notice until it took it apart to clean it. (I fired 400 rounds that session and I did not even notice it was broke, it just kept on shooting, and it did not hurt a thing even though there were pieces of the recoil spring rod floating around in there.) All I had to to was order a new one and drop it in, it has worked flawlessly ever since (and I shoot it a lot). Just make sure you keep it clean.

Just my $0.02

Williams Arms in Port Perry has it - about $4.50/40 rnd box, 1953 vintage Hungarian stuff. It's worth the drive up there on a nice day, great little town and a nice shop to ogle in.

I had one for a while, bought it from Marstar. It was a decent shooter in 7.62x25 and the finish was quite nice. It certainly wasn't accurate, but it fit the hand nice, nice slim design. I bought a 9mm barrel and it was useless, wouldn't function worth #### even with the 9mm mags. I put a few boxes of ammo through it and had no problems selling it after........or regrets.:)

Hey Rod,

I've got a '41 TT33. Shoots great. Just waiting for my probationary period to expire before I shoot it again up at PF&GA. If you go to Williams gimme a holler before you go.

Just change barrels & mags & you have a different caliber.

Nah, just buy the 9mm barrel. I never understood why people buy 9mm mags for their 9mm-barrel conversions. On the Tok design, the magzine "feed-lips" are integral with the hammer assembly....they're not part of the magazine at all. Was designed this way to prevent simple peasants from buggering up the mags on the battle field. Hence a 7.62x25 mag will feed 9mm just fine.

Tokarev Ammo

Yesterday, I ordered some 7.62X25mm ammo from Williams Arms in Port Perry. I would not have known about this store unless I had read about it here, so this is just another example of the useful information that one can acquire using this website. Thanks to Redeye who pointed out Williams Arms.

I got two... the first is one of those Tokagypt Hungarian ones that were marked with civilian markings after Egypt Army and then Police cancelled the contract. It has both the 9mm and 7.62x25 barrels. The 9mm is extremely accurate and a blast to shoot. The 7.62 I'm waiting to take it when a buddy is at the range since he wants to try it too.

The second is like the picture from another user. It's those neat Polish .22LR trainers. Just picked it up so have to clean, lube and try her out. Need two people to shoot it, though. The gun is rare and those adapters are even more rare. Need someone to go running after them!

As for ammo, I got some boxes of Sellier & Belliot from one of the local retailers. It's still available at places that sell that brand. Winchester is also starting to buy and box the S&B rounds. Haven't seen any of those yet, though.

The Marstar one sounds like a deal but it is clearly marked 1) Corrosive primers, 2) Steel cases (not reloadable) and 3) Berdan primers (also not reloadable). So I haven't bought any yet. Should be a blast to shoot those since they are cheap. But clean your barrel right away since they might be hard to come by soon. I know the Eastern Block countries that joined NATO had to destroy a ton of Tokarevs.

According to some, you also have to watch out for the 7.62x25 rounds as some of the milsurp was designed for both handguns and machine guns and some was designed for the machine gun so is too hot for a Tokarev or CZ supposedly. That's what they say. Whether it's true or not.... I wouldn't want to find out the hard way with a fairly rare (in North America) gun.
