A lot of used Glocks for sale - Why ?

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that there always seems to be a lot of used Glocks for sale.

I've never owned a Glock, and my Son and I are considering getting one for target shooting but I'm wondering if they aren't all they're cracked-up to be.

I've been shooting Handguns for 50 yrs, Revolvers and Semi-autos, so I'm not a "Newbie" to this game.

All input will be appreciated.

There are a lot of Glocks out there so that could be the reason. As much as I like Glocks (which is a lot…I’ve owned at least one continually since 1991) they would not be my first choice for target shooting if you’re looking for slow-fire bullseye-type accuracy. But, if you’re looking for an iconic, fun-to-shoot pistol then I’d say go for it!
 
Nothing wrong with a Glock , but they are as common as rain , so a lot end up for sale just because of amount of them in circulation . Plus every newbie that shows up at the range is carrying one , so a lot of firearm owners will trade up to something a little more unique when they get a chance .
 
I would guess that it's just a volume on the market sort of deal, they're probably a lot more common than any other pistol you can get in Canada. Plus, they're pretty customizable, and also very easy to work on and swap parts out on the fly. Plus, there's a ton of aftermarket upgrades and parts. I enjoy mine, and use it as my go-to for 3 Gun, although this year I finally broke and started upgraded some of the internals.

could you point a g45 that the owner put on sale here ...lol

otherwise they work and there is a lot of them so you re seeing a lot moving on the market.

it took me a while to get one and i owned many handguns but i found out the g19x and the g45 are fitting well my needs of glock ...
 
Lots and lots sell therefore more on the used market, nothing wrong with a glock, great pistol, I owned a few but have moved on to other brands,

Buy what you want and don t worry about it, you have been into guns a while you must know by now if the polymer guns are what you like or not, myselfI seem to prefer striker fired plastic 9 mm s,
 
I have owned many Glocks over the years and yes I am a bit of a fan boy. I buy them in pre-owned condition and enjoy them for a while and then trade them for something else to try. My G48 is a keeper. I really enjoy shooting this gun. Glocks may not be the most aesthetically pleasing but they are very customizable.

Actually, I'm not into plastic and polymer - I'd rather have blued steel and wood - and never stainless (kitchen utensils) - also the idea of a long trigger pull like a staple-gun doesn't thrill me either.

I'm too old-school. I was Combat-trained on S&W Revolvers and my favorite semi-auto was a Colt 1911.

let you in on a little known secret

the owners are selling their GLOCK mags to the RUGER PC carbine boys

then there is no use for the pistol if you have no mags, so up for sale it goes

Bro, Glock is number 1 hip hop dancing dancing bro!

Lots of Glocks out there, LIKE lots. I have had at least 10 pass through my hands over the years. I always keep a few in the stable. A LOT of new shooters buy Glocks, then decide the sport/ hobby / Glock isn't for them and don't want ~$700 tide up in a pistol. The Glock is VERY utilitarian, not very pretty but great to shoot. Its like a practice girl.
 
They are a sound tool that does a good job. As common as an F150. In Canada, civilian handgun ownership is not for work tools, so the best qualities of Glocks are often lost on many experienced Canadian handgun owners.
 
While they are good pistols. The grip isn't for everybody and people move on to other guns.

Plus alot of business offer sales, and then ISOP or whatever it called deal for LE/Military members.
