Looking for a report from anyone who has actually used one of these scopes. Bushnell has offered to send me one for $178 instead of repairing an old ScopeChief.

Cabela's has them for about a hundred bucks more. h ttps://www.cabelas.ca/product/142290/bushnell-prime-riflescopes , but I am not a fancy gimmicky optics guy at all.

Your thoughts please. Thanks,
Ted

Put one on my .30-06 deer gun this year. Decent glass for the $$. The reticle is nice and simple. I don't even bother with the illumination most of the time. Not sure how it would stack up to a vintage ScopeChief as I've no experience with them.

I have a different model of the Prime family, a 1-4x24mm, and I'm quite fond of it so far. Build quality is decent, glass is alright, it's not high end but it's no slouch, either.

not a bad trade with the prime. bushnell is pretty reasonable in their warranty. the newer optics tend to be much better relative to their older stuff.

Well, I have sent the scope to Trace for repair, and going to take Bushnell up on the offer of a new Prime 3-9X40 IR.

I know what the repaired scope will be like when I get it back from Phil. Will report back here after giving the Prime a ride on a couple of rifles.

Some are from Korea but that one is from China I believe.

I can verify the normal 3-9x40 Prime scope is made in South Korea. However I don't know about the illuminated reticle version as I haven't handled one before.

Bushnell says the Prime is the same scope as the last generation Elite 3200.
