Hello
I'm about to get my hands on a Smith and Wesson 13-2 in 357Mag. Bought it in an estate sale. I don't know much about these revolvers. Can anyone chime in and tell me if these are collectible, $ value, shooting characteristics etc and any other information. Looking forward to shooting it and form my own opinion but in the meanwhile I'd like to hear if anyone here has experience with the S&W13-2.
Thank you

I have one, and used it for many years developing magnum loads. Took all kinds of abuse, and didn't miss a beat. Very nice gun, but being as it's a 12/6, and has fixed sights, it usually sells for less that a model 19 or 586.

Not particularly rare. Not particularly collectible. Suffers from being a 12(6) class prohib.

Other than that they can be pretty decent shooters if you don't mind fixed sites, 4" heavy barrel S&W wheelguns.

I've owned a couple different ones over the years. None now. I liked them.

Given a choice, I prefer the Model 19 with adjustable sites.

I have 12(6) and wouldn't currently pay more than $250 to $300 for a Model 13 in exc condition.

NAA.

I own a M13-1. Easy to shoot with a nice grip and balance. Also own a M19 and others with adjustable sights but with the M13, there's beauty in simplicity.

S&W’s model 13, 4” HB is a very nice fixed sighted revolver. It’s still a “K” frame & a steady diet of .357mag ammo will beat it up. These fine revolvers really like semi-wad cutter ammo (SWC).
Not particularly rare, but the HB bumps up their class appeal over box-stock pencil barrel 4” model 10’s. Now if it was the stainless version of the 13, S&W’s model 65, it would be much more desirable & valuable.
