Guide rail in the reciever for the slide broke on mine. Sent it in for warranty. Awaiting ther new replacement shotgun now. Service has been decent.

Regards,

I'm happy. Fit and finish are good, and certainly better than that of the express. Only thing I'd change are the "express" type features like the dimpled mag tube. A spring detent on the barrel would be great for the guys like me that want to use mag extensions without having to constantly tighten them.

Wonder what it would cost to get a ball detent installed on my barrel?

It shouldn't be too pricey, you just have to find someone who has the proper staking punch to stake the ball in. I have the tooling to do a variety of sizes but I'm kinda far from Petawawa - I used to live 20 min away in Chalk River.

The Norinco HP-9 14" I've held feels/looks solid for the $$$...except the squared ejection port looks like sh*t. I wish it had the oval design like the Remington model it intended to copy

I think loctite would be a little extreme, you want to still be able to get it apart easily for a full teardown and cleaning.

I use red Locktite and it works fine and breaks free fairly easily when you need to remove the barrel. I've also used a little teflon plumbing tape on the threads and that holds well too.

That's good to here, I guess the thread tolerances are pretty generous and don't allow a full strenght bond for the loctite.

OK I have one negative thing to add about the HP9.

The fugly slot screw/bolt used to attach the original stock to the receiver...like Chinese dudes, please make my day and make it a hex bolt next time.
