I got a stainless version about 6 years ago and then another stainless about a month ago. The first one has very nicely finished metal and not so nice wood (It's much nicer since I refinished it) while the second one has very nicly finished wood but the receiver has some very minor scuff marks on it presumably from shipping. If it wasn't for the scuff marks then the newer one would be finished better than the older one. I have no complaints about either one and purchased the second one because I was impressed by the first one.
I have 2 blue models,( older). I like the more traditional looks. They are fun to shoot. I may sell the 454 in the spring as I no longer hunt. It might be fun in the gopher pasture though.
I bought a Rossi R92 last year from Prophet River, it was a .357 20" stainless with a light walnut stock. The wood is great and the finish is flawless. It's smooth and fun to shoot, think I may take it to the range today now that I think about it.
Thanks everyone for the input. I managed to see a couple of the latest production R92 in person, and they really are very impressive. However, prices are now pretty darn close to new Miroku Winchesters...
