Hey guys anyone know of any SKS gunsmiths that are in the Alberta or Saskatchewan area? Normally I would use High Caliber but with the kerfuffle in BC right now I don't want to send anything West for a while. Thanks

We are solving our kerfuffle as fast as we can, but it might be cheaper and easier, to just replace any bad parts, than to seek professional help.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a cut and crown and bayonet lug removal. Best thoughts to you guys out west right now.

ive got no help on who to see but i have an SKS that was cut then threaded. it has a muzzle brake on it.

no idea if that's cheaper/easier than crown? But it shots straight and the lower recoil is great with smaller shooters.

You still need a smith...

Maybe the guys at Tier One Armoury in Edmonton could help with that?

Maybe. I wasn't aware they had an in house smith. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call.
Edit: looks like they can do it. Lead time is 2-4 weeks and a couple hours worth of shop labour for anyone else interested in doing theirs.

Go on ebay / amazon.ca look up threading dies and you can probably find one with a handle and starter 14x1 RH or 14x1 LH ..... you can do the cut and crown and thread in your garage with the help of some youtube videos ....it'll shoot good enough and you did it your damn self for like maybe 120$
