Marlin's Return Scheduled For The Holidays

I want a 16 inch barrel, stainless, laminate straight grip stock with agressive checkering, small loop, no stupid rail, regular iron sight, in either 44 magnum, 30-30 or 35 remington.
C'mon Ruger, you are dropping the ball coming back with a long barrel 45-70.........

They're dropping the ball by not catering to your whimsy, specifically?

Ruger has the Marlin sales records, they looked at them and picked the most popular models, first. This is not dropping the ball, this is how Ruger is one of the few firearms companies to remain profitable.

it has a rail on the top for a scope

And 16" treaded barrel, ugly black coated furniture, paracord wrapped lever, often coupled with the MI Mlok handguard.

I have classic levers, so want a modern take on the traditional design.

It's fair if some people don't share the same interest, but to #### on a manufacturer for pursuing other markets that sold strongly while they continued to still maintain the core product line seems laughable.

Like to each their own people, its not like Marlin or Ruger abused you by starting this new line. They took a look at what people were doing to their other models and realized they could just offer a factory version and profit while saving the consumer time and money.

Do we expect to see a drastic price drop for the used remlins people are currently listing for ridiculously high prices once the ruglins hit the shelves?? A GBL that was selling for $850 last year is apparently worth $1500 now !!

Unlikely unless the new Marlins really take off through advertising and media hype. As much as I'd like a SBL SS 45-70 or a 444M, i'm won't be paying the current asking prices for used ones based on a perceived supply and demand market.

.

Exactly. I had a 1951 waffle top 336 in 30-30 all original that is a beautiful rifle, I also had the exact rifle mentioned above in 357 as a modern throwback/replacement for the ar15 that got OICed. Its nice to have something that isnt the same old wood and blued barrel. The main thing i like about it is how it really gets the fudds panties in a bunch.
