Hi all,
just wondering right now what is the best aftermarket 10 shots "AR-Style" magazine you can buy for a Ruger American Ranch...in 5.56?
We're no fans of "pinned to 5" mags. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think 10 rounds mags are actually legal on the little rifle. Where can they they be bought and....which is the best?

Thank you,

Eric

Cross Industries makes clear plastic 10 round pistol mags that clip together and work fine in the rifle. I've also used MFT plastic ones and a few metal brands too.

I don't usually clip them together but if you want to, you can.

Thanks for the input. From what I understand, a good quality LAR-15 mag should do the job. They just happen to be on sale at Cabela's!

The best polymer LAR mags I've used are MFT. Not that it is much of a concern with a bolt gun, but they feed well and drop free from the widest range of semi STANAG pattern guns that I've seen. Not super expensive. Feed lips don't dent or bend if you bump them. And polymer is a little easier on the hands when it's cold out.

Another vote for the C Products Defence LAR-15 metal mags. They are fabulous, don't have the unnecessary protrusion of a 5/30 mag, and are reliable and robust. I now use these exclusively in any 5.56 / .223. Tenda had some on sale earlier for a good discount (think it was $24.99) but may be sold out now.
