So I am pretty comfortable with ipsc rules but my youngest son has an interest in IDPA. He went and bought a shiny new CZ Shadow and I was planning on holster and mag pouches for Christmas.

Rather than starting from zero, can anyone suggest to me a good holster and pouches for IDPA??? And who in Canada handles these?

Thanks in advance.

Bladetech is good stuff but zero product support for Canadian customers in my experience. Solely Canadian is well...Canadian...lol and have been fantastic to deal with.

For IDPA, he'll want pouches (or a pouch) for two magazines. For IPSC (assuming that he'll want to do that as well), he'll want at least three.

Gear legal for IDPA will almost certainly be legal for IPSC as well (but not the other way around).

Whereas you want it in time for Christmas, that'll limit your options somewhat:

I shoot ipsc.

you should get the lynx belt. it is the nicest one available.
I use blade tech holsters, but most prefer an open holster like the CR Speed or ghost.
you should have a minimum of 4 mag Pouches and 5 mags. The individual pouches are nicer then the double pouches. I run with 6 mags 4 pouches + magnets. extra mags goes on the magnets. magnets are really good to have when you have a evil range master that makes you start with all mag on a barrel.

Lots of good place to get them.
I got most of my stuff from Double Tap or Tenda.

Guga Ribas also makes really nice stuff and I think most of their stuff is universal.

Colonel Mustard is a dealer for Comp-Tac International IDPA/USPSA holsters and mag pouches. They are one of the merchants on this site. I have both holster and pouches for my Shadow 2.

Bladetechs are injected molded plastic, decent but ok holsters. I have one.

I MUCH prefer my Concealment OWB kydex holster from Solely Canadian. IDPA legal, MUCH tighter fit to the body and a better overall feel from kydex vs plastic. You can also get them in different colours, camo, etc... Downside is they are made to order.
