I'd say Savage 219/220 or a Stevens 94.

I've seen the assemblers marks stamped inside of them before and that clover used to mean it came from a special run way back when but I've never seen that whacky arrow on any of the Savages before.

i've been looking through the MORDERN GUN VALUES BOOK. the hammerless part excludes iver johson, iga
rem, h&r . the little round knoch where the stock attaches
looks like the savage but the savage had exposed hammer.
thanks for looking

i just had a brain fart. i just tryed 1/4 NC and NF in the stock attach piont and no go. a M6x1.0 screws in. so this is not merican made , i'm assuming. i think it will clean up
and i want to put a 40 caliber barrel chambered in 10 mm auto. i' call up cfc tomorrow and see about registering this thing
thanks

The one you have in the pic is a Utica made 220 or 219 cause if it was made in Chicopee it would have had a date code stamped on the inside of the receiver but all it has is assemblers marks so it was made before the move in 1947. Which means that action was made between 1937 and 1947.

Here's a pic of my 219, you made me go take the buttstock off, happy?:);):D

Just kiddin, I just like to help.

that pic is exactly what i have here. the mordern gun values don't have a pic of the 219. just the 220 which don't even come close. one puzzleing question, why does
this action have a metric bolt to atach the stock. is yours
a meteric bolt too???? do u have a SPARE STOCK???
thanks a heap. the stock on the 99 is just about finnished.
looking at your pic again , i see the trigger guard is a
black painted pot metal.

The 220 action is identical to that one. The only reason they split the models is that the 219 came with rifle barrels and the 220 came with shotgun barrels. No I don't have a spare stock, I actually gotta find one. The older model 24 stocks are the exact same as the 219 and 220 stocks so it shouldn't be hard finding one.

My 219/220 set includes a 30-30, 22 Hornet, 16 ga and 28 ga barrels, all interchangeable. This was the original Thompson before they stole the idea.

i should trade this to u for parts. it realy looks a lot better
that my pics.
thanks again

I've got almost every Savage catalog from 1899 to 2007, they're a wealth of information. I've wrote articles on the 219 and 220 as well.
i forgot to mention that when looking at all the diff shotguns in in the modern gun values, the thompson
TCR rifle has the same action profile as this savage 219.
it would be interesting to see the innards.
cheers
