38 SW bullets

I am looking for some 38 S&W cast bullets. Anybody out there have any for sale. I used to cast my own but the mold disappeared decades ago

Or get a common 357" mold and powder coat to bring them up to 360" or whatever the size you need.

Depending on your barrel and mold, you might be able to beagle that mold.

You might try using swaged 148 grain hollow-base wad cutters. With the right amount of powder it is said that the hollows will expand sufficiently to engage the barrel rifling.

I did get some from Jet. Ordered today. I will have to find a mold as the price of the bullets is pretty pricey. I only shoot my few revolvers in this caliber occasionally I reload for 9mm and 38 special. A bit cheaper for putting holes in paper.

I shoot a 1936 Enfield no2 mk1 for IDPA competition (yes, a tad out dated I know) . I get more than sufficient accuracy out to 50 yds using the lee TL358-158-2R 6 cavity mold. bullets are powder coated afterwards. no leading and I've probably shot close to 4000 rounds in the last couple years. Shoot to the sights quite well with 3gr of unique at 750fps or so

What diameter does it turn out. I would need around .360 to .364 max.

At .364 you better have a good expander die

Have you actually slugged the bore and found the size of bullets needed?I have a Enfield, Webley and Smith Victory they like 0.359. So regular 38 bullets work well.

I believe Jets .38 are .362, I size them to .360

I've cast HB .357 diameter for using in 38 LC. It works, but it's a PITA

.360 diameter works well for me in a Smith and an Enfield.

They throw .357ish was thinking about the powder coat would bring them up to what you were looking for.

I have had several good experiences with NOE Bullet Moulds. He helped me with an odd calibre and special design request as well as prompt shipping on several other molds in that were in stock. Bonus, they answer the phone or call you back.

That’s cool, I thought about doing that myself but I thought the no smaller than 38 special minimum would be an issue?
