Is it my eyes or is everyone sold out H4895 and for that matter it appears much of the powder is sold out.

If anyone does notice a Vendor on here with H4895 for sale (Prefer 1 pound containers) please let me know.

Its not just H4895, try finding primers….

There are places with primers but you certainly do have to go thru nearly every dealer on cgn before you find what you need.
Now, try finding 160gr .308 and 7mm/.284 165gr Nosler Partitions....... rarer than hens teeth I'm finding LOL

I was at a big gun/outdoor store in Quebec the other day and they had about 8 boxes of bullets total no powder at all and next to nothing regarding cases, dies etc!! We have more choices in the Yukon right now!

I find myself saying this a lot these days- how's the weather under that rock of yours?

lol all of the popular powders are near-unobtainable from store shelves these days, and if you do find them, you won't like the prices... gone are the days of the $40 pound of powder. H1000, H/IMR4350, Varget, Retumbo, H/IMR4895, etc. etc. are all going for at least $65 per pound retail IF you can find them.

The most common places I find powder these days are the online auctions, but then you're paying an even higher premium! Popular powders usually exceed $100/pound at auction these days...

Hard to find powders are sold out within a day or two. The way to do it now is to take 10-15 mins every day and browse potential websites. I was able to get some H4350 and H1000 lately. If I am not wrong, Cabelas also had some H4895.

Isn't IMR 4895 about the sane as H4895? I used IMR 4895 following the H4895 loads and had good results

They are not the same. They have s similar burn rate but you can not substitute one with another. Also H4895 is much more temp stable.

These days you have to check the major online retailers every couple of days and be flexible with your powder choice. Vihtavuori is your friend. Many are too set in their ways and so miss out. Tesro and Prophet River just got some in.

They are not quite the same. There is also D4895 is which apparently the "bulk sales/production" or "military/commercial" version of one of the above. The jug says to use IMR4895 data -10% as a starting load, and I can confirm that it appears to run a bit hotter (at least in 308... near max load numbers was starting to give me some primer cratering).

I’ve got almost a lb that a friend recently gave me.
It’s old though ,at 21.95 per can.
If you were on the rock you could have it.

I’ve spent about $600 every winter for the last several winters. I looked again recently and can’t believe the prices from last winter to this winter. I find the reloading components have gone up more than anything other than lumber. Might as well buy old factory ammo as it comes available. Honestly for plinking I have been now looking for local old ammo deals, etc. Thank God I enjoy shooting 222 because it shoots a lot of cheaper bullets well and uses little powder. Maybe time to invest in a hornet of some sort.
