Looking For a Someone to Do a Custom BLR Build

I am looking for advice on building a custom BLR in a 25-06. Can anyone point me in the right direction to someone who can build one for me?

from my own experience with a BLR, most gun smiths want nothing to do with the trigger/ action on these rifles. they are built like a swiss watch and the triggers (at least on mine) was garbage. it says in the owners manual to (never take apart). if you do find someone to work on it be prepared to spend some big bucks. good luck with the build. im sure theres someone out there specializing in BLR jobs and making a killing.

out of curiosity what are you looking to do to it? its a cool gun, i coudnt get passed the trigger on mine.

I am a lever action guy through and through. Own many BLR's and several Winchester levers. I am a big fan of the 25.06 just cant warm up to a bolt. I had a BAR 25.06 that I kick myself to this day for selling but want a lever. Browning has actually made the BLR in 25.06 in a few limited runs for a gun shop in North Dakota but its a needle in a haystack to try and find one . The only option is rebarrel a BLR in 30.06 with a 25.06 barrel and I believe that would work. I dont mind paying to get it but want to be sure its done right. :)

What an interesting project.
I would think that one of the steel receiver BLR's would be the way to go.
One with 327 in the serial # would be the ticket.

I have a 227 version in 257 Roberts. Nice gun and I love it.

25/06 is a fantastic cartridge. good luck with your search.

W R Longs LTD in Bewdley, ON, an authorised Browning Gunsmith, may be able to at least direct you to someone who may be able to help. I sent my BLR there for repairs after a botched cleaning job from another Gunsmith resulted in "timing" issue with the gears (firing pin would not string the case primer hard enough to ignite).

I’ve been thinking lately that a BLR débarre led in 9.3x62 would be awesome!! As a bush/camp gun!!

As mentioned above, the steel receiver model would be better for rebarreling.
But have also considered a T/D w/ switch barrels in various calibers. One action with extra barrels...issue is trying to acquire the T/D mechanisms for the extra barrels...

Love my BLRs, but my suggestion is instead of spending the money to do a custom 25-06 just buy one in 6.5 Creedmoor or perhaps 7mm-08
