Where do you get a C7 (M16A1 style) upper receiver these days??? Anyone have one the want to sell?
thanks

Well for a C7 you'll have to join the Canadian Armed Forces.
Diemenco was the former name for the manufacturer. Colt Canada is the new name. Unfortunately they won't sell to civilians or active military/police. Only military and maybe police departments.

So:
Unless you can find one that somehow made it through the cracks. Then you'll have to settle with other brands. There's Colt (US), Stag, LMT, Rock River Arms, Armalite, Olympic arms etc. They all make AR-15 uppers some in multiple calibers. Check the posts here in the Black and green rifles. Also go to the site sponsors. Many of them sell these.

Good luck

To clarify:

I'm just looking for the stripped upper in basically the A1 style.... anyone?

I think you're taking him a bit too literally. He doesn't want an upper receiver from an actual C7 rifle, he wants an upper that has the same characteristics as a C7. This is most easily described as being an M16A1 upper with the addition of a Brunton Bump (case deflector).

Bushmaster still lists these in their catalog, as their 'A1' upper. P&D Enterprises in Edmonton bring in a lot of Bushmaster stuff, you could ask them if they will get you one with their next order.

Armco is selling a few CQ311 uppers (Norc AR15 ), A1 sights, Bolt Carrier/ Bolt, Charging Handle, For under 400$ Has the Lite Weight 20" barrel..

Only thing I would do is switch the hand guards to the A2 style...

It seems word might be out.

We've have license apps in for some stripped Colt A1 Uppers (A1 sight and case deflector), same style as the C7, for a while. If/When they come through I'll post it here.

I'm wanting to build a "C7" too. :sniper:

Cheers

Battlerife,
I figured that. Which is why I recommended he check out the site sponsors. Since I have ordered from a couple of them, and plan on possibly ordering in the future from one that just responded on this thread. I didn't want to play favourites. ;)

The information is readily available. Site sponsors is pretty easy. Then there is the exchange forum etc. A little bit of homework and the answeres were allready there :D

Awesome, I've been wanting a C7 style upper for quite awhile now. Just can't bring myself to buy a no name one. It would be fantastic if I could get my hands on a Colt one, closest I'll ever get to a Diemaco. These will be small hole, correct?

BTW, I was searching through the racks of C8's at work and I came across an upper that had both the Colt and Diemaco logo, they were a little smaller than normal. Anyone ever hear of this? All the others only had one manufacturer mark, the majority being Diemaco.

I could be wrong, but I believe the "C" that may have been on the upper stands for "Cerro" Forge. They're probably the ones who made the upper forging that Diemaco ended up producing the upper with...

hsld.

HSLD, I appreciate the input, but I know what a forge code is and this wasn't it. The forge code was off to the right slightly, just like it always is. This was a C with the stylized D right beside it, only a little smaller than you normally see. I guess that I'll have to take my camera in to work with me, been wanting to grab the dimensions of the original C8 profile barrel anyway.
