Hi guys I jsut made a .xls sheet to calculate the specific rate of twist need for a specific bullet....

Just have to enter the lenght of your bullet in hundredths of an inch
and enter the diameter of the bullet....

The answer will be a number exemple 10.85... SO the best rate of twist for this bullet would be 1:11

Try this it is funny to know if you are right with your bullet

CLick on the link below and download the .xls file

this has helped solve a problem i have been having. i have a model 70 fw 243wssm, and wanted to shoot the "majic" 100g bt. having no luck i did try 70g noslers, 80g sierras, and 85g v-maxes. according to this twist rate calculator, i would need a 1/8 barrel for the hornady 100s. the model 70 is 1/10. if anyone tells you that a 85g v-max will not flatten an 8 pointer at around 100m they are full of it. thanks

I'm happy for you guys.... If it can help some of you !!!!

But i'm sure you alredy know that this is not the only thing to get the best precision... The depth of seating the bullet is another thing... the quality shell themselve can play a lot.... The state of your barrel... (fouling or not... 5000 time fired or only 500)....

But this Calculator will help you to save a lot of money
by putting the right bullet in the right rifle...
