I use to but I bought 300BLKOUT cases in bulk from Black Steep and I have never bothered since. Its work intensive, and requires some form of automatic annealer. If you were doing them individually with tupac annealing marker it would take a long, long time to make a 1000 ready to go cases.
Candocad.
Does anyone have experience making 300blk brass from ivi or military brass?
Whats a good tool to trim the inside if the casing?
I was going to convert a bunch of my brass then just decided to buy some from black sheep brass and save the hassle
DIRECT CONSUMER SALES ON QUANTITIES OF LESS THAN 10,000 PIECES ARE SUSPENDED
I do 100 in an hour. Once they are made they last quite a long time with subs and long enough with supers. I don't know why you think they need to be annealed, they don't.
Buying factory brass could be an option if there were any to buy... I started making my own because I couldn't find any brass that wasn't horribly overpriced. That really has nothing to do with the OP anyway...
if you are going to do it
use 223/556 Brass that has a neck thickness of 0.010-.011 for best results before trim/ sizing
You can/could buy a jig off of Amazon, that clamps onto the mini chop saws, for cutting down 223 brass to make into 300blk. Well worth the $20.
I don't get the point of the jigs, why not just set the guide? That's all I do and it works fine. The length is set when you trim so it only needs to be close.
To convert the brass you have to trim off app 3/8 of in a inch. very time consuming if you are using a hand trimmer
