Well I figure its time to do some work to the twins. For the top one I want to know where I can get a medium weight Douglas barrel, and also where I can get it chambered or borrow the reamer to do it myself. As for the bottom, I need to know who I can send the barrel to, to get it cut and threaded, and also where I can find a vortex break and a navy ring site. O and I need to know who can ream my FH to NM.

Any info is muchly appreciated

A couple of suggestions -
If you are going to borrow a reamer, borrow a pull reamer set. If you use a conventional reamer, driven from the breech end, you will have to ream with the barrel detached, install, check, remove, ream, reinstall, check, etc. VERY careful measurement will be necessary, and if you cut a bit too deep.....
Don't attempt to do the job yourself without a barrel vice and action wrench.
Also, before cutting and threading, carefully measure the barrel diameter where the barrel will be threaded. I have observed variation in barrel diameters; make sure there is enough diameter for the threads to be cut properly.

marstar sells metric threaded gas lock navy sights for the m14s..... why buy U.S. when you can get them in canada for a good price.

If I had two M14's, one would be "tacticool"" and the other would get a much different treatment. I think it would be cool to remove the park finish and give it a good blue. There are a few spots that just scream "engrave me" like the exposed parts of the operating rod. An engraved logo/scene on the flat part beside the bolt handle would be nice, especially with some gold leaf inlay to contrast against the blue. An exotic wood stock could be made, along with brass or gold-plated hardware..... gold trigger, gold mag release, polished brass butt plate, barrel band, stock ferrule, etc. Have a high quality leather sling made, as well as some 20rd mags refinished to match.

That would be one hell of a transformation for a norc!

How about a gold on blue engraving of a natural looking maple leaf beside the bolt handle, and a stylized "LIBERTY" written down the froward exposed part of the op rod? That would be sweet!
