Santa Claus attended early and brought me one of the new Eotech 3X magnifiers. This one has the flip over mount that also allows for the magnifier to be removed so it may be used simply as a viewing sight.
I've put up some pictures to simplify my explaination.
The normal Eotech reticule, to me, has always been a bit 'fuzzy'. With the magnifier installed, the reticule is 'cleaned' up considerably.
Who ever actually manufactures the optics for this glass did an outstanding job. It is of extremely high quality, at least on par with the Elcan/Leitz glass. Side to side clarity is amazing.
The bottom line with this is, the sight picture is fantastic.
Eotech also makes a 4X. However, it's almost double the price and double the weight. I just couldn't justify to Santa having 1 more magification.
