Hi CGN

I recently accepted a trade offer for a Walther UIT. I don't know much more specifically about it other than the pics I got.

It has no sights on it and I would like to mount a scope. From what I've researched it has an 11mm dovetail. What would be a good mounting option that I will have bolt handle clearance? I'm not sure which optic will be mounted. Id like the option to put my sightron S3 3.5-10×42(?) Because its what I have, but eventually I'd like to find a nice, smaller European scope with a 1" tube and glossy finish.

I'm looking for any suggestions for mounting options for either 30mm, or 1" tubes and 42mm maximum objective, that will match the aesthetics of this rifle. As well, Ideas for glass that is decent but not super expensive (under 1k...closer to $500+/-)

Any other interesting info about these rifles' history would be greatly appreciated.

Put on a scope that has enough magnification so that you can see what you hit at 50 and 100. Use suitable ammo and you'll be happy with the results.

Use good quality dovetails for either 30mm or 1" and you won't look back.

Not sure how I posted that twice.

I was more looking at specific options for rings that work well with this rifle. Will any 11mm dovetail rings work? What height do you have on those rifles?

BKL rings are very versitile and will work on any 11mm (or 3/8") dovetails. They are available in two heights that should suit most scopes. They are shown below.

There are many other dovetail rings that will work effectively. Below are two examples other brands of rings that will work, Warne on the left, Sportsmatch on the right.

How fancy do you want to go?

Thanks for the options! I'm not looking for super fancy as realistically I'm not sure how long this will last in my collection. Until I know its a keeper something like the BkL will do just fine I think.

I really appreciate Warne Rings they do 3\8 and 11mm and are well made and feel more solid than BKL.
Walther rimfire are in major league, trigger is sweet and overall great. they are playing in the same league than Anschutz rifle.

no offense to Anschutz fans I do have both and like both :)
