Imperial ammo at CT

Good to hear Challenger is back in business. There is also a second Canadian manufacturer. " Score" shotshells are being made in Carberry Manitoba. Tried a box of 12 ga 3 1/2 inch and they patterned very well in my 870 with mod choke. I would encourage more people to try these Canadian products and use them where possible so we are not so dependant on products from south of 49.

I bought 4 boxes of Score today at Wholesale in Winnipeg today. Reasonably priced. Will check them out next week when I go duck hunting.

Challanger makes them with there headstamp
Not the same recipe but I think it's cool to hunt with imperial shells again

The ones I saw at my CT were steel shot, not lead.

I would suspect when Challenger bough the old IVI facility years ago there was a license/title hold on the Imperial name? It was probably available again so they jumped on it for marketing reasons is my guess? Smart move if that is the case. Get all us Canadians who years ago were weaned on going to Canadian Tire the evening before opener to stock up, LOL!!

Yup just bought two boxes of lead #2 and #7.5 lead. 11.99 a box. That's not bad because most are going for upwards of fifteen and larger shot seeing premium prices of over twenty.

Just to be different lol. Could be a Canadian tire thing. I have boxes of their old house brand can tire labeled stuff and its twenty to a box as well.

It is classic reduced product packaging sales. Most casual shooters have no idea there are only 20 rounds in that box. It like the pound of bacon that weighs 350 grams. Canadian Tire has been doing that for years. Heck there is even less cardboard in the packaging more savings and profit for CTC.

Reviving an old thread from two years ago... I just discovered this stuff and love it, you think you get a great deal until you realize it's only 20 shells and then you only have a good deal! They shoot great and are now head stamped with the Imperial name. Made in Canada and reloadable... does anyone even reload any more?

I wanna see the pictures of this old box !!!
Without heading to Canadian tire and trying to find it.
Man, I miss those Blue high brass shells of yesteryear.

** didnt see it was an old thread, but it flooded the memory/sensory bank for sure.

Found an old imperial half brass shell on the rouge while walking the dog last weekend. Must have been sitting there for over 20 yrs.

I didnt but the question stays the same.
I brought imperial 12 gauge 2 3/4" at canadian tire.
The hulls are stamped with " challenger 12 canada.

I know that challenger uses cheddite hulls.

So i was wondering if my imperial hulls would be reloadable with cheddite data.

The steel/brass base is twice the height as my cheddite challenger hulls.

How do i post a picture?
