Looking at getting back into shooting a 22 pistol. Would like to buy new. Any of these guns more accurate, reliable or better trigger than the other? Ruger, Browning Buckmark or the Beretta Neos. Anything else I should be looking at in this price range?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions, Leo.

Used High Standard Super Citation, or a Browning Medalist in excellent shape would be my choice.

Beretta Neos or a Browning Buckmark if you want new.

Used Ruger Mk1 or Mk2. Can find them in great condition for $300, accurate, reliable, all steel and will last forever, trigger easy to improve if you feel the need, none of the extra safety crap or LCI's of the later models, mags are cheap and easy to find.

I have a ruger mark 4, hunter. Great gun, very accurate. Only downside is that it's bit heavy because of the steel.

Pretty much most High Standards; I have a "Sport King" and a "Sharpshooter", both are tack drivers, and both have amazing triggers. I have shot pretty much everything over these last 40 years, and while some are better than others, High Standards always are a cut above.

What's your budget? The options on your list range from $400 to over $1000... Are you going to want to add optics? Holster? Extra magazines?

What style of shooting do you want to do? You have a few pretty great options for target/plinker style, all covered above. I'd add the Norinco Olympia to the list, but it's not for everyone.

There's also a few "duty" style 22 pistols available that are pretty excellent if that's what you're interested in.

As mentioned-Ruger MkI (no last round bolt hold open-safety only)or MkII(bolt release/hold open)
Ruger MkIII,MkIV have useless LCI/Mag safety & thumb safeties that are useless.

Buckmarks have plastic internal parts in the bolt---not good for a dirty blowback rimfire.

Hi Std's have nice triggers but their 20+ spot welded magazines are flimsy & SUCK.

Colt's not in possession...for various reasons.

I have not shot/owned a S&W Victory.

Brought a Ruger Wrangler in black and it actually shoots nicely, just a pain to keep reloading it, but for the cowboy inside its a blast for only $249

Revolver, I'd look at a S&W 17, pistol Ruger Mk II. If possible hold different types and find what's comfortable, hand size determines trigger reach. You 'may' find some pistols have a grip angle that doesn't feel right.

When I got up this morning I didn't think I would be buying a handgun today. The Victory just showed up on sale at Flaherty's with free shipping so I ordered one. Thanks for the advice people.

NAA.

Shooting 22 pistol is my fav. Here are my picks (all of which I ow)
Volquartsen - I was not able to afford their complete pistol but i did buy their barrel and put it on a Mark IV with a Tandemcross trigger/grips
Beretta 87 Target - probably my favorite both from accuracy and looks
CZ Kadet - same measurements as the 9mm version but in 22. Feels solid in the hand and chews through most ammo type (22 slide actions can be quite finicky/picky in what ammo they like to run)

i also have a Mark IV with a TacSol barrel, a Sig Sauer P226 Classic .22 and a High Standard but i take the three noted above to the range most often.
Obviously the designed usage of each of these pistols vary significantly....but u can research them and see what fits your desire and budget

i have no xp shooting a 22 wheel gun but keen to add one to the collection
