The Model 64 Precision offers new potential by extending the range of the rimfire and by building Precision Series upgrades into a design that's popular with plinkers and target shooters.

The new Model 64 Precision houses a semi-automatic action in a synthetic MDT chassis with M-LOK slots and an ergonomic pistol grip. The heavy barrel and threaded muzzle provide increased functionality and extend the range of the rifle.

“The Model 64 has been a tremendous gun for Savage,” said Jessica Treglia, Senior Brand Manager for Savage Arms. “It deserves a big upgrade—and this is it. Savage is showing just what the 64 can do. We’ve taken our benchmark plinker and added performance-driven features that will allow shooters to connect at extended distances. If you want an all-around rimfire that is perfect for target shooting, plinking, and competition—check out the Model 64 Precision.”

I've got a 5-year old '64 and a 'new' A22. The A22 trigger assy is cra-, and my 64 is just as accurate. The A22-Precision at Cabelas is $740+ tx, so if the 64-Precision is lower, I'm in, especially if it is compatible with the 'old 64' mags. The only advantage to the A22 is it uses the same mags as my B22 - and the 25-mag works in my B22 as well.

That'd be great ! Have ta get close ups of that. The bit that goes into the well 'looks' sorta 'keyhole' but can't really tell. My family is from US South, I got bubba in my genes - watch out !

I always liked the Cooey/Savage 64. Simple and easy takedown.
Triggers are just adequate...I hope there is some improvements there.
Mags are not the most finger friendly...I hope they have incorporated some feature to assist in that.
The stock looks ergonomic and a nice update.

I'm far more interested in those 20rd mags than a tacticool Savage 64. The amount of times trying to weld 2 10's together has crossed my mind...

I've just got 7 of the 10s - they're available . . . and exist. Those 20s may not appear here for years.

Those mags look plastic to anyone else?

If they redesigned the 64 to take mrk2 magazines, that would of been wise.

I agree on both points. Or if the MKs had been designed to. use the 64s. Either way, just marketing ploy to sell more mags. From what I can tell the 'early' designs of both have feeding issues. My 'new' 64 mags are fine but the OEM from 2014 was f-d.

Too bad it does not have an ar style adjustable stock, would be much better when shooting with kids.

I think I'll hang on to my rem 597 with archangel stock then.

I just found this on the Savage site. Looks like it may fit the 'old' keyhole wells. Or may need mods ?

I just hope that it doesn't shoot like the regular Model 64. if t shoots like the Mk 2 then I would definitely pay for one.
I have a 64F and its about a 3 MOA gun at 50
