30 Super Carry

Interesting new calibre. I guess we will see if it makes it up here. Given the pressure and length, it probably can't be shot in anything other than at least a 9mm platform and we still have the barrel restriction so can't see the problem. The benefit of the caliber is pretty much lost on any region with a 10 round mag capacity limit if the selling point is 'almost same power as 9mm but more rounds'. Wonder if we'll see the 9mm v 30 Super debate, like we saw the 9mm v 40 debate. hope not lol.

It's .312 cal, same as most of the .32s that are already banned so I doubt it would be exempt. I'd love to be wrong and see it up here though!

Our Gov't hasn't been exactly dynamic as far as the 32's being banned. 8mm Lebel is a good example... but the fact that they didn't take further steps can be considered a Godsend I suppose.

The current guns that use this new cartridge are all small prohibited-sized handguns built for concealed carry, in my opinion, this new release is nothing but a solution looking for new trouble. No one asked for it.

Agreed. It is intended as a carry gun with increased capacity, using a very high chamber pressure in a smaller calibre. Since we can't carry here, I think all it's going to do is cause premature wear in the barrel compared to a 9mm and with no practical benefit in our country. Having said that, have at it if it turns out to be legal here! It's your money.

One of the first guns offered is a full size 1911... The other is a compact that won't be any goofier than the Pinocchio barreled stuff we have lots of on the market already.

As for wearing out the barrels faster than 9mm, how many pistol barrels have you gone through in your life??? I have a .38 Super barrel in a race gun going well over 100,000 rounds and it's doin fine. I have a few duty type guns with even more. Springs, pins and such go long before barrels.

If you don't like it fair enough. Save the weak arguments for your gun counter buddies though because you clearly didn't even spend any time learning.

I don't see it becoming popular in Canada since main beneft would be lost here due our capacity and ccw laws.

In the states it may become a niche since must people tend to have bigger is better mentally (where 9mm not good enough for some). I can see it being popular with women and elderly who currently use .380 or lesser caliber or 9mm users who want less recoil.

The 30 Super Carry will soon join the .45 Gap and 357 Sig on a list of 'What were they thinking?)
The 30 Super Carry seems to be a solution in search of a problem.

After watching what I could find on YouTube I am not so sure either. Mainly around the recoil, it sure seems snappy for a cartridge that is probably relying most on "9mm power without the recoil". It definitely blows .380 out of the water but for an extra 2-3 rounds in a magazine I think this one may struggle unlike the .327. I may convert a 1911 in the future but for now I'm holding off.
