The barrels from Dlask are very nice.
It's not easy to copy the profile of the front sight ramp on a P-08 barrel, on a home lathe. It can be done but it often just doesn't look right.
I converted a 32acp Erma Luger to .380acp and made the barrel restricted length. The barrel taper wasn't difficult and neither were the radiuses required but the sight ramp was another ball game. Finally just eliminated it and installed a higher front sight.
OP, your pistol looks great as is. Has that been there look.
I have one in the safe, awaiting a similar fate, other than it is in very close to unissued condition.
I also have the same replacement barrel, which will be my next project when the weather gets warmer.
I've really been procrastinating on this job and every time I look at it, I wish for the armpits/crotches of every LIBERAL/DIPPER antigunner to be infested with fleas from a thousand camels.
Still, it will have to be done, if only to save it for a few more years.
Mandatory destruction of the barrels is a crime in itself. Mandatory surrender of those barrels is also a crime.
If the taxpayers of Canada want those barrels destroyed they should blood well be paying for them as well as for the amount of value lost due to depressing the value of the firearm.
