10/22 magazine options for a bolt gun guy out of the loop

Hey guys, after some time without a semi...and after slagging 10/22s on/off for sometime...I'm looking to get into some offhand/reactive target shooting and adding a semi back into the quiver. Luckily, accuracy isn't the highest priority. lol

I remember reading up on the Tactical Innovations Ti25 magazines back in the day, I think the consensus was they were among the best. I know how the Charger pistol complicates things for us here in Canada. Rather, our ridiculous laws do. Anyhow, I know there are 10/22 gurus here on CGN, hoping to learn about what mags are available for the 10/22 (22LR) here in Canada..OTHER than the factory 10-round box mag.

I had a bone-stock 10/22 carbine over 10 years ago, and never used anything but the 10 round box mags. They're truly excellent, and I wouldn't be overly disappointed if they were the only option. Just exploring the alternatives. If a BX-15 mag was available (even pinned to 10?) I'd appreciate the extra length.

I have a couple tandemkross magazine bumpers and like them.

Biggest thing I did with my 10/22 was stick an IBI barrel on, I now no longer consider it inaccurate.

I haven't seen TI mags in ages but they were the best till the factory bx25 magazines came around.
Everything is going to be pinned to 10 now, legally correct or not, to comply with the rcmp dictations.

So, IRG might be bringing in pinned bx15/25 mags?
 
Spectre Ballistics sells a magwell adapter that allows Rem 597 30rnd mags to be used in a 10/22. It works well. As far as a 10/22 being inaccurate, #### barrel and #### ammo is the problem. My Bentz chambered factory Ruger 10/22 barrel is more accurate than my stock T1X barrel.
 
Pinned mags are easy to find. Once you have them just remove whatever is blocking the full capacity. RCMP opinion is not law and in this case it shouldn't even be their opinion since the justification is nonsense.

I mean you can risk it if you want but OP should at least know how or why magazine capacity is restricted. Hint: It's not the firearm capacity but magazine capacity, if you don't know the difference don't do illegal #### like unpinning a semi-automatic firearm magazine.

To Answer OP's question, besides the Remington 597 magazine adapter, or a TUF-22 magazine (which requires you to modify the receiver). You can buy a variety of pinned to 10 BX-15 or BX-25 from IRUNGUNS. Some Canadian retailers also stock 10/25 BX-25 magazines like Firearms outlet but it's not a very common item.

In regards to after market: Butler creek stopped making their excellent 10 round single stack 10/22 magazine which protruded a little bit below the mag well.
 
^If you are talking to me I think it's clear that you are the one who doesn't understand. There is no limit on rimfire capacity with regard to rifles. RCMP have gone so far as to advise members not to recommend charges for possession unless it's part of a larger list of charges (bargaining power for crown). Even they don't want it tested in court, they just want you to comply.

I have one Butler Creek single stack 10 round and really like it.
Been keeping an eye out for a while without luck. Makes sense if they're not being made. Too bad.

Somewhere I've seen extensions being made for the factory rotary mags. That or a back-to-back adapter would give some meat to grab onto.
 
PERSONALLY, I never warmed up to the 25 round “banana” mags. Offhand it interfered with my left hand grip and from the bench it
interfered with the bench & bags. I found those small, 3 magazine connector blocks are perfect. (Sorry, I forgot the name but I’m sure one of our advertisers will have them.) The 3 X 10 round mags are clipped together, forming a triangle so you’ve got 30 round capacity that sits close to the stock. It also makes it easier to remove/change a mag because you can grip the lower 2 & pull. You can also load 3 different types of ammo (1 in each mag) if you’re testing a variety.

I know some very competitive shooters that buy the cheapest (10/22) action they can find, their only concern is how it functions. Then stick a good stock and a proper barrel on and win.

The Ti25 (with the adjustable feed-lips angles) were pretty good... But not as reliable as the BX10 magazine.

If you want something easier to grab, there are quite a few extensions available

Good advice. Who here wants to individually & financially take the hit for being the test case on 10/22 mag capacity? This is something the groups we as a community financially support should have nipped in the bud years ago.
 
Thanks for the replies guys, the 10/22 magazine landscape is about what I was expecting. My only other 10/22 (long time ago) had the original magazine release, so I always wished the mag was a littler longer. Imagined that would help-maybe not. lol

Thanks for the reply chilly-not really looking to risk anything, just looking for information. For my purposes (and even for aesthetic reasons) the ideal mag for me would probably be a BX-15 that only HOLDS 10. Not pinned, but a 10/15 pinned BX-15 would be the next best thing.
