I got the riffle, 4 mags, bayonet, cleaning and the Black Synthetic furniture kits from Wolverine Supplies for 650. The riffle came with the standard presto red furniture and my son and I installed the Black Synthetic. Installation was a little tricky. We had never done something like this before. We had to keep in mind that the gun was from Czechoslovakia, which means use a bigger hammer!

While cleaning after shooting the corrosive ammo is something to be considered a given.... not more so than with any other firearm.
Pouring boiling water on it? I might startle a few guy that do it religiously.... but is very unnecessary.

Some of us got to use these 7.62x39 (all with corrosive primers) on a daily basis.... and after many years of cleaning the rifles by just field stripping them and good ol' by the book wipe..... they looked fine and functioned flawlessly.

I don't understand where these ideas come from? Certainly not from people that designed those firearms and ammo. Overcleaning compulsive disorder I'd say.

Thanks, I was a little concerned about the whole water thing. One of the guys at our range, and who I respect, mentioned to use a biodegradable ammonia based cleaner will do the trick. I picked one up at a gun show that is used by the British Shipper School and I use it regularly cleaning my other guns. It does an awesome job, especially removing copper.
