I saw that too! If it was in 9.3x62…. I think I would have bought it lol!

Reliable sent me a picture of the crack...(at the time) it looked too serious for me to consider the rifle. I can't seem to find the picture of the crack, but will post it if I do. I used to live down the street from Reliable. In the 1980s their used rack in front of the counter was near legendary...a weekly stop...all kinds of great stuff showed up...and it was all usually priced right. I should have bought more of it. Not quite so affordable these days, but still some interesting guns show up.

Here are pictures Reliable sent me...the crack doesn't look all that bad to me now...but its hard to tell how far it goes into the checkering...I have a thing about all wrist cracks...I don't like them...I wonder who made the rifle. As far as I know, "Bohler Rasant" is a type of German or Austrian rifle barrel steel, not a gun maker.

Love the engraving on the end cap there

Curious about that tang safety too , I’ve seen modern ones by voere but never a vintage one

Really nice rifle but maybe a bit pricy considering the cracked wrist?
I don’t like how the scope is mounted lol

My Zephyr11

^ is it worth the price? Does it “ handle like a rifle” like a CZ / BRNO ?

Looks great

I love that FS zephyr. Wish I had bought one when they came out, doubt more than a handful came into Canada. I ended up with the regular stocked one with iron sights. Very nice rifle. I got rid of my cz457 and 453 after getting the Steyr. I think it's worth the price. To be fair I wouldn't buy the model with iron sights again. They don't line up particularly well with the American style stock, and they look out of place on the Steyr. They are clearly from the same parts supplier as CZ.

I think Nordik marksman has been having issues bringing in Steyr stuff. Been waiting almost 2 years for some parts I ordered.

I bought it from Nordic ,they brought in four fullstock s and I drove the two hours to their store so I could have the pick of which one I wanted. My only complaint is I wish it had double set triggers as a gun like this literally screams for them.I also have a krico 22 mannlicher with double set triggers and they give it that extra touch of class

Sometimes you get lucky:

For awhile I have wanted to try one of those folding peep sights for the Mauser cocking piece, an improvement on open sights but without the bulk of a scope. I finally found a Lyman, priced right and in excellent condition, complete with cocking piece. I put it away in my parts bin to wait until the right Mauser showed up. I thought I would use it someday but only after some serious fitting. Then I compared it to the cocking piece on my 8mm Brno fullstock, and it seemed a match. So I popped it in. That took about 5 minutes. I can detect no difference in trigger weight, overtravel, etc. It was an exact fit. Very unexpected.

Now, if it would only warm up a bit, I could take it out for a range test and set the front sight height.
