Out of all the pages and videos out there I found Othais and Mae's vids to be very informative.
Surprised who used them mostly in WW1.

Are there many members with these?

And most important...do you do loads for them?

I have two 1907s - one of each identical to the two in your top picture.
May I ask where that picture is from?
I've heard others call them 'police" models but have not seen a real reference to what makes it that

In 1908, King Carlos I of Portugal was assassinated by a former soldier using a Winchester 1907, serial #2137, imported from Germany.

I made that pic by combining other pics I found.
Doubt you could use reverse image to find it.
Othais goes into the 07 being used by police force @ 44min, mark on the first video, when he talks about the bayonet lug in 1934.
He then goes into detail @ 46min. of the dedicated changes Winchester made for the Police.
Like I said, tons of info in both vids.

canuck if you get a chance, post up a pic or two of yours.

I have a very nice 1907, could be from a prison.....it has the sling swivels and a peep sight.
I do not reload, I use factory ammo only.
I will try to get a picture.
OK

Well that was a bit of a "Lunchbag Letdown" Read the entire thread which was awesome...
Clicked on "Reply to Thread" and saw this !

I think finding history about a specific firearm, be it personal or historical is just amazing.

Got my 07 apart and found the forestock has been glued a bunch of times.
Globs of glue everywhere, but they don't interfere with the loading and firing.
The wood is paper thin already and I'm sure one good squeeze would cause it to crack again.
Thinking of a mod to help that...
Surprising the outer appearance of it looks okay.

No signs of the buffer. The buffer washer is tight against the bolt. And I see Numrich is "Out of Stock"

Gotta do some thinking on that one too.

Watch this old timer reassemble his on a tree stump. LOL
Great vid.

Thank you Canuck !

When I started this thread, I did kinda struggle where to put it.
Although is should have gone under "Hunting/Sport", I decided to put it under Milsurp after watching the C&Rsenal video's.
Once seeing them used so much in Aerial reconnaissance in WW I...it had to go in Milsurp!
Also read some where the Fed's used the 1907 while looking for Bonnie and Clyde.
When I get mine back together, I'll post up too.

Everyones most likely been to the this site...LOTS!
Winchester DOM (Wish all manufacturse made it this easy LOL)

Police = 1955
Older One = 1911

Had a bit of a time finding this thread again - I thought it was in hunting/sporting arms not Milsurp.
Anyways, here are some pictures I took this morning, sorry for the poor quality
Police model?

And the older one with the letter found under the buttplate

I bought a model 1910 a year ago. I haven’t shot it yet.
I slugged the bore and it measures .410” so it looks like I can use those pistol bullets. I still need to cast the chamber to ensure that the throat diameter won’t hold a larger bullet too tight.
I bought some 414 super mag brass and converted 10 of them to the proper dimensions. Just haven’t reloaded yet.
I’ll think I’ll look around town for someone to make custom recoil spring since you can’t buy that (they are available for the 1907 tho).
I’ll end up making a buffer. We have teflon, HDPE, phenolic, and a hard rubber at work. I don’t know which would be best. Teflon is probably too soft. HDPE might be too hard. I could see phenolic not lasting. That rubber is best but hard to machine (guess I could throw it in freezer or liquid nitrogen and tackle it but by bit).

Here's the measurements of my buffer pocket and buffer.
Might help if it's close to yours.
Interesting to see if the 1910 has the same pocket & buffer as the 1907.
Notice my "buffer washer" is not stepped.
DOM is 1907, wondering if they changed them in later models?
This buffer looks to be in very good shape.

They are repairable, if you can find a machist to make up a new end and thread it onto the stem. Drill rod works quite well for this job.

Thx bearhunter & canuck
It would have been my next avenue if Western didn't come through again with finding an elusive part.

While waiting for the firing pin to arrive, thought I'd try to address the very weak forstock.
Cut 2 pieces of 6oz. fibercloth and glassed them to the inside of the forstock.
Did a trial test to make sure it would clear the counterweight part of the bolt.
All good, plus it now feels a lot more solid.

Post lady just dropped off the firing pin.
All in $60 from Western Gun Parts.
No doubt with the $$ exchange it would have been all that from Numrich, more if I got hit with CBSA and brokerage.
A little ultrasound bath to clean it up and it's ready to install tonite.
