I am in the market for used T97 rifle.
So what I have found is used Gen 1 for $950 up to $1800 LOL
The $950 gen 1 is plus shipping,,,,so close to $1,000 bucks.

Yet you can buy a BRAND NEW gen 3 that has all the bugs worked out for $1199
Its not like they are scarce or you cant Find them. Many dealers have them.

Are EE sellers really out of touch that bad ?? or are they Gouging other GNC members ?
I could understand the "ridiculous price inflation" if you couldn't buy a new one anymore......but you still can.

so why ?

They can ask what they want. If you don't like what they are asking try offering less. Or simply buy elsewhere. I don't see why this is an issue?

Not an issue....just trying to understand.
I have never asked Twice the price of a used gun I have sold.
I have always had a better than fair price when selling and most here know it.

Maybe a lot of people ask a higher price than they expect to receive because they know most people will offer less. Or they know there are people out there who don't know what's a fair price for an item and therefore pay more than they should.

Just my thoughts

Yes...I totally agree.
But 3 times what the gun is worth, I dont get it.

I’ve never understood when people who declare themselves as free market enthusiasts (as most here do) complain about prices or what people choose to try to sell for.

You really have to ask the question....what kind of person would do that.

I’ve seen silver bars for sale on the EE for double what they should be because they have a maple leaf stamp on them. Or Rolex watches that go for triple what they paid because Rolex has a business model of yearly price increases. Or diamonds. That one always gets me. An artificial shortage created by the merchants and good marketing make a rock “worth” thousands. It all makes me laugh a bit.

Ive been following because i want one.

new Gen 3 is approx $1,300 + tax so $1,500 to your door.
This has no extras but has warrantee

If if you add optics, mags, furniture etc then I can see a mint condition gen 3 for $1,800 list price (im not gonna pay that, but the math makes sense)

Ive seen gen 1's with high round count go for as low as $850. so anywhere in between is fair game depending on many variables.

I paid $1100 for a lightly used gen 2 with the added t-97.ca lower handguard and a few other bits and bobs. I’m fine with that as I only wanted one with the aftermarket lower and they are like hens teeth at the moment.

supply vs demand

A Lot in supply.....
Demand....not sure. cant be that high. Lots for sale.

here is my thoughts on this-
I would rather buy a used one "at a fair price"
I could save a few bucks.
I also like helping out my CGN members if I can.
The private seller perhaps is in need of fast cash for home repairs, or lost job or illness in the family.
I would Love to help out a fellow member that really needs the cash, rather than giving it to a Big store.
I'm just that kind of guy.

I hear ya lone ranger.

I am casually looking for one too, had one before and it wasn't bad so I thought maybe I'd get one again if the price is right. So I click every T97 ad that comes up, but usually I am disappointed. A few times in the past few months I have seen excellent prices, but those were gone very fast.

I did see one where the guy wanted to trade for a Ruger Ranch that takes AR-mags plus cash, so I said I could be in for that thinking I'd offer my ranch and maybe another $300 to $400.... he wanted $900 in addition to my Ranch! No frigging way when I can just go on a website and order one for $1199 ($1354 after tax here in Onteribble).
