The 7.62x39 has barely any felt recoil in a carbine as heavy as the sks. Similarly the weight at the fore end (even without a bayonet) mitigates muzzle rise, even during rapid fire.
They look cool, though.

Dont let the nay sayers influence you, the gun fires a 123gr projectile at 2300fps.... it has recoil. U can choose to do something about it at the expense of increasing the report of the gun, or u can just accept and use it as is like these guys have...

The brake on the SVT is not needed as well. But it sure can be nice to have. Especially if ur going to be slamming 100s of rounds thru it.
