SOLD OUT: TYPE 81 SPECIAL EDITION -Shipment 2-

I just received my type 81 today and i tried getting the dust cover off it was practically stuck on the rifle I managed to get it off without damaging the wood stock then i noticed why it was soo hard to get it off its bent and curved downwards at the end of the dust cover and wouldn't let the latch release it due the the very bad bend at the rear. I got it off without damaging the wood but I don't think I can get it back on without using alot of force and damaging the stock to get it back on. has any one else had this issue?View attachment 563588View attachment 563589View attachment 563590

Interesting, have never seen this issue before!

Had to check mine, zero issues.

I have a folder from 2019 and it is no where close to being bent
at all. So I have contacted TI to see what they think maybe they can replace the dust cover from a parts LMG if they have one I don't mind if the dust cover is blued I just want one i can put back on with out haveing to use tremendous force due to the dust cover being curved downwards at the rear

Damn that’s a banana!

Mines a bit of a chore to get back on, it always tries to hook on the outside of the lower receiver and has taken all the red finish off the stock but it’s not even bent. Can’t imagine the pain in the arse that was to get off

all is forgiven when you shoot it… I see the scalper prices have gone down from $1800 to $1400. You’re only getting the AB tax price from me. $1260 is my top offer. God speed, scalpers!

So I was checking my type 81 yesterday and I noticed that the front sight was canted to the left by about 3mm. I could actually visualize a portion of the gas piston through the gap. The front sight was actually adjusted more to the right that it sits closer to the right side of the shroud if looking through the rear sight. Has anyone else experienced this with theirs?

is that pouch the kobra came in? i dont see a mounting plate?

Yup the side mount was in the pounch. Unfortunately they friggin forgot to include the threaded pins 🤦. So gotta call them to get those. Im going to assume they already made my fire arm OR? the safety is on the right side for the firearm. Included a few pictures but no pins or a way to install the side mount

Oh I never thought of that, I might just keep them if I don't wanna run an optic on it then. But TI better send me the threaded pins for free lol plus the left side safety. I thought those were supposed to be spare extras just in case or something

He owes you the pins, I guess you ordered a non optics ready and added the rail.

Not so with the safety, the side folders all have the safety on the right side.

Ah I see that makes sense. And yup I ordered the non topics ready and added the Kobra side mount item. Oh well what's another week or 2 of waiting lol

Seeing $1400 for new fixed or folder and no takers lol, TI are expecting more shipments for those still want one.

More shipments but no more pic rails…sad for those of us who ordered them and were told they didn’t have enough for everyone

If it makes you feel any better my buddy did not like the new rail and far prefer the original rail that TI sold with the blonde 81.
