meh!!! im guessing you havent been checking EE for yugo cos they are going for $800 to 850. cheaper then that or better condition dont stay long tho.

a dealer has a m59 (non GL) for $800 that has been on EE for 6 months, he keeps deleting and relisting to make it look fresh.

Scooped up the last win 94 trails end in 450 marlin from those guys .. nice bunch of fellas.. price was fair. At the time..

Did realize it was 0003 production.. lol
Still shop there today.
SKS does fo bang.. bit pricey.. time and place I guess

Gun Dealer is Top notch dealer, i highly recommend.

But, contrary to Joe Bloe putting his gun up on EE, they have bills to pay.

50$ difference is not that much for being able to see the piece in person and leaving with it if you choose and supporting a local dealer...

Cheers!

I'd rather support my family.

As to buying from private vs dealer.

I sold a SKS a few months ago and 4 (!) months later the buyer txt me and told me that there is a problem with the gun. Gas tube was pitted.

I honesty didn't know if it was his fault or mine but I sent him a pristine gas tube.

I doubt you get the same service (and price) from dealers than from private sellers.

but those prices arent a difference of $50. i wouldnt buy them according to the pics on the dealer's site.

times are changing if i have to rely on visual inspection with dealers and local members, i would never reached over 300 transaction on EE. im getting pretty at buying online.

Also found some nice looking Mosin Nagants at a place called Soley Outdoors $499.00 Anyone buy from them before? All the bits come with the rifle sling / tools / pouch / bayo / seems like a good deal.I got a Yugo cut down one last year from a place called Corwin Arms but cannot seem to find them lately.

heres a russian sks all matching refurb asking $400 shipped on EE (lots of pics). i would buy this but i already bought one for $400 (stock not matching) with free ammo 6 months ago.

Looks like a nice one. I bought a laminate shooter grade from Tenda recently for less then $500 shipped. I was a bit surprised to see a 2015 production ОП-СКС made in Russia conversion. I thought anything after 2014 was not allowed into Canada because of the trade ban. Mag not matching, the rest is matching. Some noticeable rust and pitting here and there, Tenda was fair saying that is in "fair" condition. But the stock is in a VG shape, very snug fit. Bore is very good, no pitting or rust. Same for BCG. I took it to the range and it was already sighted in and it was shooting Barnaul ~2.5 inch 5-shot groups at 100m all day long. So my expectations for a good shooter were met.

"2015 production made in Russia conversion"... what 2015 production and conversion?

This SKS was "converted" to a "hunting carbine" in Russia in 2015 and marked as ОП-СКС by Tula. If sold in Russia, they make some mods to the rifle to meet legal requirements. So, technically, it's a 2015 "produced" rifle.

very interesting, i just learned something new today. can you post some pics?

if sold in russia, i hear they put a pin in the bore (shocking) so they can trace the bullet to the rifle easier, can you comment on that?

I'll take a picture of the factory markings. We are lucky they don't have to pin the barrel for Canada, because it's true. They also make a burr in the chamber so that spent casing can be traced to a particular gun it was fired from. They submit both bullet and casing samples to police before the gun is released to retail, so that it can be easily identified if used illegally.

Corwin fled this sinking ship back to his home country when he realized how fu**ed we are.

Solely has been solid from my several interactions with them.
