Type 81 pistol grip

Should be easy enough, once I get the base plate part sorted out. I would need an ak grip though which I don't have right now. What I do have is a spare Hogue grip so that's where I am starting.

the reason why ak dont use a base plate bcos it uses the back of the trigger guard to brace it.
 
Yeah I don't know anything about AK grips to be honest because well they are prohibited so I've never looked into it. OP asked about the hogue grip and I happen to be doing just that so I thought I'd pipe up.

Just because the gun is prohib doesnt mean most of its parts are...

Pretty straight forward, rifle is prohib and I wasn't alive when they weren't so I don't have one. Since I dont have an AK I have never bothered buying parts for it. Do you often buy parts for rifles that you don't own? Parts that are not compatible with anything you own? Seems like a strange hobby.

I'm not trying to clone anything though? I'm making an adapter so I can use Hogue grips. Since that's what OP asked about I thought it was relevant. Honestly clones do absolutely nothing for me. I couldn't care less about pretending to own an AK. That being said I have the tools and machines so if someone who does care about clones wants to send me an AK grip I'll work on that next.
 
You asked the questions, not me. My goal was to simply clarify that the grips arnt prohibited. Which may not have been what u meant, but thats how it read regardless.
 
You stated the obvious and I thought you were trying to make some sort of point but it turns out you were literally just staring facts we all (should) know. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Gotta work on a couple minor details but it installs tight and snug. No wobble on it so far. Used it for one range trip so maybe 200ish rounds.

may i make a suggestion? can you fill in the gap between the front of the adapter and the back of the trigger guard? also make the bottom of the adapter flow better from the trigger guard and the grip? the angular line dont look as good.
 
Yeah the minor cosmetic stuff will be addressed. Right now I'm making sure the funtion of it is correct. Need some more range trips before I'm satisfied that's it's working correctly.
