I’ve put just under 200 rounds through it (fired) and no failures or light strikes.
Remember, before I even shot it I worked the action A LOT. Metal Snap caps or FMJ dummies would help work and break the feed in if you don’t want to ram live rounds around.
I can see some are a little salty about this rifle, expecting it to be flawless and perfectly machined and matched. This rifle can be found for ~$400 usd, it is what it is and for what it is it is great.
Love it so far. Just had to lube it up and smack it around some. She’s putting out numbers. Pictures don’t lie that’s why I’m hosting this thread.
Don’t get mad at me if it’s not your fancy and you buy it. I like it’s looks, and the relatively small amount of work I had to put into it has paid off in full. For me.

I’ve got an Axis 2 Scout in x39 and it shoots fantastic. I reload with Hornady SST’s. I get decent , 1”, groups at 100yds and use it for deer. I found a feller online that sells 3d printed mags for the Axis that hold 6 rounds and they feed and hold up pretty good. Couldn’t be happier, love the rifle and the round
How is the cleaning of these bolt x39s after shooting surplus?
I'm thinking of getting a bolt 7.62x39 gun for another way other than an SKS to have fun with my surplus ammo but with the smallest cleaning time afterwards. There's some semi-auto options, I like the WK180, but those would take just as long to clean as the SKS to make sure the gas system is cleaned well and spending $1k+ on a gun I'd spend extra time cleaning it to be sure. Ideally I want something that doesn't need any extra disassembly.
I'm thinking with a bolt it'd be easier. Wipe down the outside, slide the bolt out, run some boiling water over the face area, pour boiling water down the chamber/barrel, bore snake the barrel, then put some oil on everything.
Or would I still end up with some rust from that?

It sounds like you're experienced with shooting corrosive ammo. Why would you think you can skip any of the cleaning procedures because it's a bolt action, instead of a semi auto????
There are less parts to clean with a bolt action, but the same protocols have to be adhered to.
Even stainless steel is affected by corrosive elements in the ammunition.
I saw a lovely little Ruger 77 short action, stainless steel at the last gun show I went to. It was chambered for the 7.62x39 and had the Lexan "canoe paddle" stock. I was very interested, until I checked out the bore.
The bore was very heavily pitted, which of course was the reason for the very attractive price tag.
The seller admitted he had shot corrosive through it, and put it away in his safe for a couple of years, thinking that because it was stainless all would be well.

Blizzard, I agree with Bearhunter RE cleaning. I've had a R-Ranch x39 since last Summer, prob 200 rounds of MS and Barnaul. I drop the stock off (so I can dry ALL wet areas to avoid Rust) and run hot water thru the barrel/action 'just to be sure'. Then regular cleaning since the MS leaves a lot of Carbon/cra*. Even with Chinese MS I get MOA or better using a 3-9 Duplex scope, and is does a bit better with Barnaul.
These were last Fall with Chinese MS (not Norinco boxes). "Rings" are about 2.5" diameter. The #3 shot at 180yds was a called flier- my sled moved. All with a 3-9x40 Duplex scope. 60*F and 10mph wind Left to Right.
