I'm fairly new to bolt actions, always been a lever gun guy, just wondering what everyone Ike's for one piece rings/base set ups on their tikkas? Also noticed my reciever is also grooved ,does anyone set ups scope on these rifles using the grooves in the reciever vs the regular tapped holes ?love to hear what everyone likes to do.

Get a proper set of Tikka rings/bases for that rifle and don't look back.

Those grooves, as well as the mounting holes in the receiver top are dead true.

The last couple I've set up only need minor dialing in when the scope was set to the "0" center position of turret travel.

If you can judge cant of angle well, even you can mount that scope. Just use the proper drivers and don't make them to tight.

I love the Talley lightweight mount. Simple and strong.

I have used both styles, Talley's that mount on top of the receiver and Burris that mount to the dovetail. Neither is a bad option, Talley's are lighter but mounting to the dovetail is probably the most secure method.

Use DNZ and Talleys. Both work great. Also have one with the MDT 20MOA rail and rings on top.

Sometimes it comes down to whatever u can get your hands on, that gets the scope as low as possible.

I've tried a couple different setups for my T3x. NEAR makes a really nice mount but spaces out the rings a little too far for some scopes. Hawkins also makes their Long Range Hybrid rings for the tikka, they're like a higher end set of talleys. Right now I'm using an area 419 scopes base and ATRS rings

Optilock mounts are nice but expensive.

I concur with the Burris suggestion. However, that is offered in medium height should you (OP) prefer something such as low.

Talley 1PC lightweight (aluminum) is available in low as well - provided the scope is compatible, of course. I had installed Talley on five 30 cal rifles in my hunt group including two 300WM. None have experienced any issue todate.

ALL 4 of my T3's have TALLEY 1 pc LW rings on them and i LIKE them ! I have a DNZ talso and its good too ! RJ

I am a NEAR fan. Have the NEAR Alphamount on 4 or 5 of my rifles. In the particular on a Tikka CTR and a Tikka Super Varmint. I find them to be exceptionally well made and fit well. Made in Canada and if you have an issue his customer service is top shelf.

For lightest weight I like the Talley ringmounts, and for max adjustability I like an MDT rail and rings. I've got both and use both depending on application.

Another vote for the Sportsmatch.

Ya Talleys come in low, not really much difference in height between the two styles.
